Interesting Discoveries Thread (Good or Bad)

Doesn't just holding the power button down for 2-3 seconds do it?

It has on every UVO-equipped Kia I've owned or rented..

Mine displays an analog clock when I do that. Although that may have been a setting I changed and just don't remember...

Handy tip if like me you can't be bothered to go through the screens to find the 'display off' button or don't want to take your eyes off the road for too long, you can set 'display off' as a favourite and then all you need to do in order to turn the screen off is press the 'star' button
And how do you set the ''display off'' as a favorite??

The analog clock is a screen saver setting which from memory has the option of digital, analog, or none

I’m with you on finding the plastic. Found this white tape under the audio system head unit on Monday. Can’t believe I hadn’t noticed it over the past 3 months. Also found clear plastic on the very bottom panel under the steering column, and on the side panel next to the accelerator. I’m sure there’s more

It’s finally been weeks since I found a pice of tape. Finally. Still, one day I’m sure I’ll find another.

1) Press the "Setup" button on the row of aluminium trim buttons inbetween the AC knobs

2) Select "Custom Button" on the screen (this has a star shape next to the title)

3) Choose "Display On/Off" from the list of available options listed on the screen

You can also choose three different screensavers for the display off setting - the analogue clock as some have mentioned, a completely black screen, or digital time and date. I prefer the digital time and date personally.

Completely blank screen must be default. I tried holding the power button in for the first time yesterday and my screen winked out. No "screen saver" clock or anything else.

And, thanks for responding.

I followed directions given here, and now I have the time and date as my "screensaver" option when I turn the screen off. I like it. And "Display Off" is also now my "Star Button" selection. (Don't need it so might as well use it this way: I had it connected to my phone settings, but never once used it that way.)

I have the analog scren saver.....I'm still behind on the shortcut.

I use it as my shortcut to Apple CarPlay. Now that Waze is there, I’m using it more.

On the bright side, you can always start a “Is anybody else missing 2 cylinders?” thread. :) That’s something most of us can’t do so I guess it evens out.

Two of them, all told. Last one modified to 190hp to the wheels! LOVE that car!

Mine was an '03 GT-S with some basic bolt-ons and lowered. LOVED that car, probably my favorite and really hate myself for getting rid of it long ago.
