RE: SPORT mode and engine sound.... Yeh it’s more to point out that even though you’re changing settings relating to the CUSTOM mode the engine sound setting on that page also affects SPORT mode.

So if you wanted a quieter ride (minimum engine sound), sport engine and transmission and comfort suspension when using CUSTOM you can’t go quiet without it also affecting SPORT mode. In my case frustrating and logically it makes no sense as that setting space should only affect the CUSTOM mode.
Ah, got it. The sound transfers over to Sport. So if you're quiet in Custom, you're quiet everywhere (all modes). Quiet is quiet, you now have a "quiet" car. I can see how that would bother those who want a louder car sometimes, or visa versa, and go to Custom to get it: but don't want Custom sound settings transferring to the other modes.

With "shift by wire" GT2, if you downshift (or upshift) with paddles, pulling back on the shift knob will return to "D" mode.

My GT does the same exact thing...

I'm sure y'all know, but for the benefit of those who might not, you can also just hold the (+) paddle for about one second, it returns to drive as well.

If you unlock the door with the fob or with the handle button, not open the door, and walk away ... the doors lock back again after about 30 seconds.

Or just wait, and "D" returns automatically. The only way to stay in "manual" on the GT1 is to use Sport mode, and/or push the shifter into "manual gate". The GT2, I understand, has no "manual gate" function; but Sport is supposed to retain manual shifting once you use the paddle shifters: then, I presume, you get out of "manual" and back to "D" by bumping the shifter or holding the "+" paddle.

Yep in sport it holds the gears, and if you want it back in “auto” just hit the shifter back into D. It would be nice if they limit “manual” mode to 6 gears vs the 8.

What is your reasoning on that? I drove to TX and back in Sport and "manual gate", and manually selected 7th and 8th gear a lot. I got better gas mileage doing this than I have had before.

If you switch your headlights off the DRL will stay on, but if you put it in P and engage the park brake the DRL will switch off allowing you to park fully blacked out without having to shutdown the engine. If you just put it in P without engaging the park brake the DRL will stay on

I engage the parking at night to turn the lights off if am waiting for someone at night, doesn’t annoy anyone with bright lights.

I tested this today (in daylight) and when I engaged the handbrake the drl's turned off. I did not need to put it in park. Tried a few times with the same result. Lights were set to auto and engine was running.
I'm imagining a Stinger in Highway Patrol livery lurking in bushes and waiting to pounce.

Yeah I think the handbrake is the cut off, but no point using it and not putting it in park or neutral. I didn’t try it with D or R, guess it works in N as well. As for the last bit you’ll have to take your Stinger for a drive to cane toad country to see that unless you plan driving to WA or NT. NSW still haven’t come to the Stinger party yet.

Driving back from ACT yesterday I saw 3 HWP lurking in bushes. Fortunately most traffic was behaving within reason. Can't say the same for the white SUV that barreled past me on Federal Highway and got caught on a clear stretch of road.

Stupid thing to do during double demerits. It’s not like people don’t know about it they advertise it enough. It’s the same every year

Interesting. On the US spec Stinger's, not sure on the Canadian spec, you need to have the lights on Auto in order for the DRLs to turn on (which makes no sense to me). If you switch the lights to off, they will turn off. They will also turn off whenever you engage the parking brake and you have them on Auto.

Yeah it is interesting the different quirks between the specs in different parts of the world. The DRL on ours come on regardless if the lights are off/on or auto but the parking brake being engaged turns them off.

Love 1 and 2! 3 ... autohold no. Need to keep my feet active. Im young in mind but old in body ... need to keep my feet active.:D

Also not good for the brakes if they've been heated up a bit. It'll cause deposits on the rotors and then "warping" of the rotor.

Walk past your locked car with the key on you. This makes the mirrors open out. Don’t unlock the car, just go stand near the smart boot and open it. Now close it, and walk away. The mirrors fold back in after a minute or so.
