Anyone that has taken off the intercooler? Have you ran into issues removing this clamp? It a weird clamp and I beleive I am getting a boost leak from it. Any thoughts?

Weird how?
I dont know if you taken the intercooler off and personally seen the pipe i circled on the picture, but it is not an ordinary clamp where you loosen. Its like a plastic clip with some type of pressure wires that hold it together. I was not able to take it it off, I had to remove the silicone from the other side of the pipe to remove the whole piece together. I tried to look online for picture of it but could not find one. The piece is worth $550 dollars from kia. Today while i was driving i realized that i am not building boost. I think the clamp is damaged or something is going on.

I see the part for like $80 from any of the many online Kia parts suppliers

You sure you are searching the correct part number? Can you provide the link?

There are no pictures online at the moment seached everywhere it is really hard to explain unless you see it. I will be going on vacation this Friday to Puerto Rico and return on March 1. When I come back I will be removing the intercooler and will take detailed pictures and make a video of it. Regardless i will be buying some aftermaket silicone coupling or IC pipes and make my own new pipe to fix the issue. There is no way in hell i am spending $500 bucks on an oem clamp/coupling. I can probably do it for under 40 bucks. I was hoping someone else has ran into this issue or seen the clamp i am talking about.

Does anybody know if the pipes that come off the intercooler are 2.5 inches or 2.25?

Looking at the screenshot you provided and highlighted...and the part # shown... your part # above is for the entire assembly. Not just the 1 hose/clamp.

Guys have some great news. Took the bumper off and started looking for the boost leak. I thought it was one boost leak but ended finding multiple. Will post a video and pictures tomorrow. Figured out to remove the clamp properly and also found that many of the IC clamps were loose due to vibration and probably running higher boost. Will keep everyone updated, will post the videos tomorrow.

Here.. fixed your post for you. Hahaha!
I just fixed my post lol hahahahaha .... I know this is not a good excuse but it’s not me lol this autocorrect be killing me and I never care to proof read lol I do this to the wife when I text her all the time.

That passenger side connection is actually quite nice. It uses a lip seal. Just a clip to hold it in place. No clamps. PITA to attach an aftermarket hose to that side of the IC, but it's actually a great idea. But they're more expensive, hence they didn't use more of them.

Yeah I don’t know if I really like the idea lol I like just the old fashion way and use normal ic clamps. After inspecting the connection it does look nice and seems to be very functional but very suspect that it can leak. That clamp with the hose it’s $550 dollars from Kia. I will stick with a 3 dollar clamp. But found some interesting things when I took the car apart.

Angel, I posted above. The $500+ is for like every hose clamp part in the entire assembly. Not for that 1 hose / clamp you highlighted.

Moving on...

Oh ok I went off that part number. No worries my bad. Ok good to know the clamp and hose seem to be fused together.

Thanks for bringing this up so others can avoid the issues!
Here is the video. When you change your intercooler its a good time to properly inspect and torque down all the IC clamps.

Here is the promised video guys hope it helps some people out, can save you a dealer visit.
