For Sale I GUESS it was fun while it lasted. PART OUT

but what exactly destroyed the engine block? that's not enough oil loss to do it. I never heard of bad coils and plugs destroying an engine either. Ima trying to learn these things.

If I recall one of the cylinders basically had a melt down. Detonation (knock)/Misfire/bad coil/bad plug I believe can definitely lead to piston meltdown. Also there's a whole bunch of history that car probably went through prior to him buying it used. Who knows what type of abuse it saw prior to him finding problems one by one over the course of ownership.

I know this. what I meant was the appearing of knock and misfire would be addressed right away, by any normal intelligence person such as yourself. you didn't cause the white smoke / piston meltdown, it was already a happening caused by the previous owner. if you attend to the cause of a bad misfire in a timely way you won't destroy your engine. Ima surprised that kia honored the warranty and that was big of them, and good for you. and the next owner of your stinger is probably going to benefit, as long as he doesn't treat it like an idiot.

The dipstick came out on its own. Noticed a cloud of white smoke behind me when I was driving cruising. Pulled over and opened the hood and that’s what I saw. I had bad coil packs and a bad plug that were cracked down to the porcelain. It was a post on fb I made and someone mentioned it is possible for the dipstick to come out of place especially under wot.
I'm speculating that the engine had massive blow-by which pressurized the crankcase and subsequently forced the dipstick out.

I guess the “intelligent” thing to do would be to use the search function. It was a whole thread I was going play by play about what was happening. You not slick throwing undercover shots slim but whatever gets you off.

eech, I wasn't directing any opprobrium at you. sorry it came off that way. reading over what I said I can see that it could be taken wrong. Ima saying that the damage was already done when you got the car and it melted down as part of your saga. you were already fighting a misfire and trying to get to the source of the trouble. but it was too late because the previous owner didn't apply due diligence, quite the opposite the engine was abused. the amazing thing is that kia covered the replacement. sometimes they are amazing. what got my attention here was the dipstick coming out. I'd never heard of that before. now I know. peace.

Vent covers still avail? Is it glossy black? Hard to tell from pic
