Hello,

I finally pulled the trigger on a Aurora Black Stinger GT2 AWD with red interior, paint protection package, and all-season tires. I didn't do the lease cash but I still got a very good deal on the car and traded two vehicles for above KBB, the trades were high so I only had to pay $200 in taxes. Got a rather large reduction off MSRP and got a free 1 year maintenance contract. I did purchase the wrap for $1700 which extends the bumper to bumper to 10year/100,000 miles. I am not sure if I will keep the wrap but will think about it some more before I kill it.

Love the car so far and I am breaking it in by not going over 4k rpm and letting it warm up every time I start it. This car replaced a 2015 Supercharged Mustang GT and a 2012 BMW X5 x35i SAV. I inspected the paint as I think if it was a problem it would have flaked off some already but I didn't see anything wrong with the paint and I used a paint meter to check the thickness of the coverage and it is normal so I have my fingers crossed.

The only things I miss so far is the top-view (surround-view) camera from my BMW, the ability to adjust the hatch height (BMW), and being able to unlock all the doors when I open the driver-side door. I don't think the parking sensors work very well at least compared to the BMW. I also don't see a setting for the side mirrors to point down when backing up but hopefully I will find it. Not a big list considering I am coming from a top luxury brand and one of the best American sports cars made. Love the safety and autonomous features so far.

Thanks

Side mirrors point down backing up if you have either the L or R mirror selected. If you have no mirror selected the mirrors do not tilt down.

Not going over 4K RPMs is half of it. The manual says for the first 600 miles to run the motor in between 2K and 4K RPMs. Keeping it in Sport mode makes this almost automatic.

Agree. Keep it in Sport mode and easy on the throttle!

Thanks for the help and yes I am leaving it in sport mode for that very reason.

The Nappa leather and the cooled seats are awesome better than the Mustang and far far better than that awful BMW leather. The Mustang had really good cooling in the seats but the Stinger freezes your behind :)

A double tap of the door handle button should unlock all the doors. I believe there's a double-tap toggle in the settings somewhere. There might also be another setting if you want something more automatic.

Otherwise, congrats on your new Stinger!

You can adjust the hatch height by positioning it were you want and holding the black hatch button for approx 3 sec.

Thanks a lot and thanks for the information I am still getting used to it but really love the car so far. If this car holds up for 5 or 6 solid years, if the quality is really there, then KIA will have a solid winner really this is a great vehicle. Great stereo too definitely up there with the Shaker but much clearer sound. MY Stinger is a November build date so I am going to be checking my paint daily hoping not to have the paint chip issue.

I traded in my 2014 3-Series for that very reason, the leather was SO hard I couldn't get comfortable.

And I agree, the "autonomous" features are incredible. The LKA and adaptive cruise makes long drives so much better.

The hatch can be adjusted by pulling it to desired height then hold the button inside of the hatch that is used to close it until the lights flash! You can also adjust in the settings what it does when you unlock your doors so that you only need to press the button once for all four doors

My HiChroma Red GT2 is a November 2017 build and the car and paint is perfect. Nearing 10,000 miles.

Awesome I will try this tonight when I get home.

Welcome, and congrats! I was cross shopping the 340i and 335i, around town handling felt similar, but the Kia was more playful and steering actually has more feel than either bmw. Kia had the better interior hands down.

Yeah I'm actually shocked when people talk about the interiors of BMWs being nice. I feel like they have a lot of cheap plastic in there. My main reference for that is my 2014 model but still, compared to the Stinger and other Audis and Mercedes I feel like BMW is lagging.

The interior also starts falling apart after 4-5 years in the socal sun at least. Chipped paint loose buttons etc. We'll see how the Kia holds up, the standard is still those 90's honda and Toyota interiors where plastics last 20+ years and leather doesn't start showing age until 10+ years:D:D:thumbup:
