I finally pulled the trigger.

The interior also starts falling apart after 4-5 years in the socal sun at least. Chipped paint loose buttons etc. We'll see how the Kia holds up, the standard is still those 90's honda and Toyota interiors where plastics last 20+ years and leather doesn't start showing age until 10+ years:D:D:thumbup:
That's what Kia says is supposed to happen with the Stinger. In the promo book they wrote: "Yes, over time interiors do wear out. We just want the Stinger's interior to hold up much longer than our competitors'. That's why our testing is so exhaustive ... The target here is to always exceed our customer's expectations."

Finally!....congratulations!!....lots of features to get used to for sure, a quick search on the forum and a quick look at the user manual will get you all the info for those features.

Congratulations! Wow, that's a couple of nice vehicles you replaced with the Stinger! I'm glad to see the Stinger is THAT good...

I have driven the Stinger for about 400 miles and I think it is a great car. The BMW X5 is a fantastic small SUV and it beats the Stinger in stability, the BMW drove nearly perfectly straight at every speed effortlessly as long as the tires were aligned. Alignments on the BMW last a long time I had it aligned once in two years and it just about needed it again when I traded it. I would also say that the BMW was more confidence inspiring in turns and you could push it until it started to skid a little and then lay off just a tiny bit and be all set. The Stinger seems a lot less settled and it feels like it loses grip just a little with road imperfections.

The BMW also had excellent paint and the Stinger has very thin paint in comparison and it shows for sure. Now I think that overall the Stinger is much more comfortable the seats are way beyond what you get with BMW at least the ones I have been in. It is important to note that the X5 was $65k brand new although it sold for 11% below that.

The Stinger has more tech on-board except it is missing the surround view camera which was in my BMW and I miss it a little. Although the HUD in my GT2 is awesome and is comparable if not a little better than the Cadillac and Camaro 2SS I test drove. The Stinger is very fast and the shifts are excellent. I hear reviewers say that the Stinger transmission is not as good as the ZF and I think that is just ridiculous. So I am overall very happy with the Stinger it is entertaining and the value is there.

KIA did a great job I am a hard person to please and for such a new model car to be compared to road legends like the X5 says a lot about how good this vehicle is and could be down the road. I am hoping KIA keeps evolving this vehicle I think some minor suspension tweaks, the addition of the surround view camera, and a minimum paint thickness of 5mils would go a long way with the Stinger.
