HUD Shaking

Dropped the GT2 off at the dealership, HUD shakes over broken pavement. Rough pavement at high speed. Perfect example is hitting the lane pucks, or whatever they are called

Does anybody elses HUD shake/shimmy? It get's so bad I can't read the text sometimes. Dealer says normal, I told them go drive another GT2 and confirm.

I guess I will have to look more closely on the way home today and see if I can't make it shake.

Same here, and I cannot imagine a HUD that shakes/shimmies to be "normal".

Granted it happens only on bad roads and when I switch lanes and go over the lane indicators.

Gotcha. I'm going to see if they can replicate it with another vehicle on their lot. If they cannot, I'll pray they can replace the entire unit. My experience, is the HUD doesn't shake.

I don't recall the HUD shaking, only after a few weeks it started doing it

Left lane, 400-S just south of Lenox road going under the MARTA bridge where the pavement is worn out makes my HUD dance like crazy. If your down in that area, let me know. Would love to meet up and drive that back to back and see

its a sort of gimble to make sure there are no rattles , It was similar on my BMWs so I would not get too concerned unless it really wobbles , probably an easy fix to tighten though , yes mine does too but not in a bothersome way

It's mounted to the dash pad frame supports by a plethora of screws, mounts and dampers. I think something is look on mine, but I really don't have the time to tear into it and find what is moving...apparently the dealership drove a few other GT2's and they all had a little movement

If someone has access to a service manual, it would be handy to know if the adjustable display position uses some mechanical means, or scrolls a fixed display. I always assumed the latter, but....

Per the service manual the adjustment function uses a step motor in the HUD unit
