So from this last post, I tested my myself just on a jack and spun the front wheels and they seem normal. Did the side to side test as well.

So from our last convo in the other thread, I already had a dealer appt in a few weeks so I’m going to mention the propeller shaft & transfer case be inspected. Hopefully that solves the issue

Experiencing what I want to say is possibly a bad bearing sound. Hear a humming sound when the steering wheel is tilted to the right, but vanishes when I tilt the wheel to the left. Noise was there before the current tires, and I just bought new rims (was told at least 1 was out of round). Problem is still there.

So at the moment, they’ve “diagnosed” it to be just tire noise which I have to disagree with. The noise started before my new tires, I changed them (to what I have now), and the noise stayed the same. So I’m not sure. I’ll probably bring it up again next visit.

Thanks for your quick reply, is it accompanied by any vibration in the steering wheel or body of the car?

Hmm I feel like around 60-70+ I have vibration (or maybe just feel the road more) I can feel through the floor… but I’m not sure if that’s just cause of the all season sport tires and 19in rims. It’s been like it for awhile so I can’t tell anymore there’s a part of me that wonders if I’m just being over sensitive and thinking there’s something wrong. But the noise is for sure there when it wasn’t before, so idk @ReGT2rx

But that sound, especially on concrete, I can hear starting maybe 10mph+

2019 GT1 rwd 93k miles. Just swapped both front hubs. Not a hard job on the rwd. Need a T55 torx and have to drop the rear most control arm to get 1 of the bolts out. In the last month it developed a loud pop/clunk sound every time I would turn in reverse, left or right. Almost sounded like I was running over a rock. And since I’ve owned the vehicle, it’s had a slight vibration above 80 mph w/ 3 different sets of tires up front. Picked up a pair of frt hubs on Amazon for $129. TRQ w lifetime warranty. I’ll road test in the morning and let y’all know.

I’m possibly having a hub issue. I’m hearing a noise on my drivers side after I had a flat tire. Replaced both front tires, noise is still there. Had my wheels fixed cause they were allegedly bent, still there.

So I’m going to jack up the car and spin the wheel and see if I notice anything. And then do the “test” by pushing on the sides and top.

Then I may try the stethoscope test and see if I hear a different in noise with the others.

If the noise is still there, then my only guess would be the wheel is still damaged. Could it be break pad related? I have the oem on there.

I notice the noise in all different MPH’s. Along with that, I feel like certain roads make it louder than others. I’m lost honestly lol. It sounds like a deep hum, or whomp noise as it rotates. No clicking, or metal. That’s why I thought it was tire related but it’s still there after new tires. 35k miles, awd

Alternatively and definitely the way I check rear wheel bearings in front wheel drive cars, is to securely jack the vehicle up and spin the wheel while holding the strut... you will feel a rumble thru your hand if the bearing is faulty.

You can definitely do this to a RWD Stinger as well to check your front wheel bearings, may not be as easy for an AWD tho' ?

Well the hubs were def worn, but not the cause of the clunk while turning in reverse. Replacing them took care of the vibration above 80mph and also helped eliminate some of the “roaring” under hard braking w/ cross drilled and slotted rotors. Adjusting the front sway bar to the softer setting took care of the “rrrrrrt” noise I was getting going directly over speed bumps. Anybody got any ideas on the clunk? It sounds like a spring binding and releasing. Kinda why I thought it was the bearings.
