By hub I’m assuming you mean the wheel bearing inside the hub? They’re meant to fail eventually but only at high mileage. How many miles and what year and trim?

Hub and wheel bearing replaced 1700 miles

That shouldn’t be happening at 1,700 miles! Especially on both sides.

I haven’t heard of anyone with wheel bearing issues. May have been improperly assembled from the factory. Might as well get the other side replaced under warranty if it fixed the issue.

Getting a appointment takes months in California. do love the car

That’s no fun. Good luck. Hopefully the new hub will rectify the issue and it’ll be your last.

Did you hit a curb or something? I had to replay my passenger side rear hub on my Optima Hybrid, as I hit one of our high curbs pretty had making a turn. Did it then replaced the stock springs with lowering springs after the repair.

You are the first to my knowledge.

This is unacceptable - surely another dealer can help you?

The only other hub noise story I have heard is @Gordo's, from last winter, when he had contact with the curb in a somewhat slow speed accident with another vehicle which pushed him into the curb. Suspension parts were replaced, the hubs checked out and he was "good to go". Except that his wheel developed noise/vibration. A recheck of the hub showed it to have gone out of true; the accident had caused it, but it was so slight at first that it was not detected. It was replaced and everything was perfect after that.

Old thread, but I am pretty sure my passenger side front wheel bearing is shot at 25K miles. I will be making an appointment soon to get it looked at. Just drove it home from Florida to upstate NY and it got a lot louder. Probably didn't help that with nobody on the roads I drove like I stole it. Side note, I took out a Beemer roll racing starting from 80mph. He was disappointed when I passed him and his car had 3 less doors than mine :)

Just curious what symptoms you guys were getting, ive been getting a clicking/ metallic sound over 30 km/h. There's a screech when I brake but pretty sure its the brakes. It's not the axles, and there's no play in the wheels. Drives wobbly and feels out of alignment, even though it was just done.

My driver side went out at 80k KMs. Can't even notice it unless I'm cruising at highway speeds. Hit a huge pot hole that caused a blowout 20k KMS ago that is probably the root cause.

I’m possibly having a hub issue. I’m hearing a noise on my drivers side after I had a flat tire. Replaced both front tires, noise is still there. Had my wheels fixed cause they were allegedly bent, still there.

So I’m going to jack up the car and spin the wheel and see if I notice anything. And then do the “test” by pushing on the sides and top.

Then I may try the stethoscope test and see if I hear a different in noise with the others.

If the noise is still there, then my only guess would be the wheel is still damaged. Could it be break pad related? I have the oem on there.

I notice the noise in all different MPH’s. Along with that, I feel like certain roads make it louder than others. I’m lost honestly lol. It sounds like a deep hum, or whomp noise as it rotates. No clicking, or metal. That’s why I thought it was tire related but it’s still there after new tires. 35k miles, awd

Speaking of stethoscopes, this method works surprisingly well (screwdriver + bottle)
