How to remove and replace the rear badge on the Kia Stinger

View attachment 3895 View attachment 3894 Now this is what I'm talking about just finished it tonight , New GT batch put it on the left side and a Kia stinger script . The small stinger badge and the GT badge were a piece a cake to remove but the Kia badge that was , will gust say the most difficult part . It all came out great love it . Forget the E badge go big

I see you have the trunk protector. Do you like it? Is it more noticeable in person? Do the dimples protrude a lot? Easy to apply I assume (3M tape)?

The trunks protector came with the car $75 add on the sticker it's not that noticeable in the dimples don't protrude hardly at all . I think the only one that would notice it could be someone who can do 170 that extra 3 miles an hour when he goes by they may notice it LOL .

Hey guys we finished the new front E badge video and we added a little short in the front of it based on the comments of people saying i dont want to install it because people are going to ask what the E stands for ;) Hope you like it and let me know. Sal if you want to move the video as always feel free. Thanks guys

I watched your YouTube video on replacing badges. I used plastic tools made for removing trim and a hair dryer. The rear badge was no problem other than taking time to remove the sticky tape. The front badge became a big problem. Any pressure on the badge with the plastic tool started causing the paint to chip. I was super careful but my paint chipped no mater what I tried to get the old badge off. I finally removed it and covered most of the small paint chips with the new badge but I have 2 chips that show. I don't know if it's a bad paint job or the color? It's like the paint wasn't sticking very well. My stinger is yellow so be careful, this may be a paint issue?

May have been too much heat. Also others have had similar paint chip problems up front as well even when using different methods of removal. On my old Subaru every badge has paint chip missing underneath. I was very shocked that I didn't have that problem this time. I was expecting an issue.

Heat could have been the problem but then I used the same method on the rear badge without any problem. I was thinking it might have been the paint and the color being different but at any rate, I need to do some touchup.

Hm, I have an e-Bade sitting around home ... I can check if the underside is completely flat in the evening. Also, I'm not sure what the distance of the holes on the back is ... but I assume the badge can cover them. Also, the eBades "legs" would have to be cut, should be easy with some dremel tool or whatever.

Hey David, same situation for me. Rear was fine but front resulted in chips. I'm assuming its problematic due to the front bumper being plastic. Due to the size of the chips, touch up pen will not work. Have to get an aerosol can. Will need to scuff the area, prime it, base coat and then clear coat.

the touch up PEN won't work but a bottle of touch up paint with the small brush that comes with it will work good if done carefully.

Is there any word if the E badge for the front hood will fit without issue on the back hatch? I rather like the E and would like to have it on both ends.

Welcome, JavaDoc! We haven't seen any yet - but there will be. Stay tuned...

When you remove the small Stinger on the rear, there aren't any holes, right? I won't be getting AWD, so what @Aquadog did wouldn't work for me. I definitely want the large Stinger across the back tho. I don't think I mind the unbalanced look of only the GT on the back, but want to make sure I don't need to put something there. Or, does anyone have suggestions of what else to put on the back for a RWD GT? Thanks!

I don't mind the unbalanced look but you could get the 3.3T badge.

Yes the rear badge has two holes when you get the stinger script it has a template and it's pretty easy to line the template up so the holes will be covered just fill them with silicone ,if you have a black or a white GT got it made in the shade there's black and white silicone. If you want balance get the 3.3T badge for the opposite side of the GT it's about the same size height wise ,you can find it at the forum store ,it comes with an HTRAC badge also you could stick that on your garage wall or on your neighbors Hyundai Lol . Good luck .

Sounds like we had the same problem so I know it wasn't the color. I suspected that or the fact it was plastic underneath. Hope it works out with some touchup paint.
