How to install OEM Wireless Charger on your Stinger

wh

when i went to your ebay site it says the center console & wireless charger will not ship to the United States. However a few people from the US on this thread were able to order it. Could you please clear this up as i would like to order. Thanks!

Not sure where you saw that. I revisited the listing and I can not find anywhere where it says that it will not ship to the US.

Hey @robz32, just a question regarding the climate control. Driving home getting lunch, I figured I'd try to at least loosen, if not remove, the climate control in preparation for my installation tonight...but how hard did you have to press?? That son of a bitch doesn't even budge with using your method. I feel like the entire console is going to rip out with how hard I was pressing, might you have used some kind of a tool or have a slightly different suggestion for it? Seems impossible!

@Berzerker Yes, that SOB is one tough bastid. In hindsight If I were to do it again I would just leave it in there and not bother with it. The harness that plugs in to it, has enough slack to slide the whole console backwards. You will be able to access the plug once the console is slid backwards.

Let me know if you need additional help. I'll try to answer as quick as possible.

Does the part the climate control attaches into move with the console? I'm gonna try not removing it first, I'll see how it goes.

Correct. The climate control panel is attached to a back plate that is attached to the glossy black trim and it comes out with the console.

And we're swapped! Big thanks to @robz32 for the instructions and help and @jongkihong for the *insanely* fast shipping!

Some notes about the install:

- As discussed in the previous 2 posts, I didn't actually have to remove the climate control from the holder! At the stage of unclipping the glossy black plastic guard, the entire thing just slides out, and comes out as one unit. Should make this a lot easier for people in the future.

- Those clips are a *bitch* to get out. The side beauty panels actually have 5 total clips and a slide guard, so I had really no choice but to just unclip as many as I could get to (basically the 3 that were circled in the original post) then just slide it towards the seat and pull. They're actually pretty sturdy, so nothing broke.

- For some reason, the passenger side bolt in the center console cubby under the little mat was *ridiculously* hard to unbolt. After I put everything back together, I noticed a slight rattling and realized that, even though it was incredibly hard to bolt that back in, it still wasn't completely in! Just had to put a lot of muscle in it and eventually got it flush, just remember to tighten everything down!

- Don't forget all your screws! I almost forgot the two philips head screws holding the glossy black trim down before putting back in the center console.

All-in-all, I'm super happy with the swap. Everything is a lot cleaner, and now, even if your phone doesn't support wireless charging, you have a dedicated slot for your phone to sit.

In terms of fit, the largest phone I own, the Pixel 2 XL, fits no problem with nothing connected, but doesn't fit that well with the USB connected. Smaller phones like the S9 should fit better with a USB connected.

Also, even though the cup holders are smaller, they have no problem fitting a large cup from Wendy's in both holders! The back one is a bit tighter of a fit, but it does hold it!

Thanks. :)

So I think I'm now the second person to do this swap? Hopefully we get some more!

It looks like mine is finally out of customs, and will be here Wednesday.

@Reignman98115 i don't have a real good way honestly to get any video footage besides me trying to hold my phone while I'm also taking things apart, but I don't mind taking pictures of anything that you needed clarification on that robz32 didn't cover.

Please do a video DIY if u can. I would love it. Thanks
Honestly, the pictures do a really good job at showing you what needs to be done. Once you get past removing the center console from the SGT&Me video, there aren't that many steps between getting to that and removing the part. Just understand the reference and keep your screws organized, and you'll understand the logical steps as you go.

Side-note: One nice thing I noticed is that when you turn the car off, the instrument panel reminds you that your phone is in the charging cubby. Nice touch.

IMG_0823.webp IMG_0824.webp IMG_0827.webp IMG_0828.webp IMG_0830.webp Question. So looks like I have a bigger task at hand to install the wireless charge pad unit. I have the regular shifter (non shift by wire), and I'm wondering by looking at the pics I posted, if I can get this son of a gun out? Any suggestions on how to remove it? Or can I get the charge pad in without the removal of the shifter? I know it would be easier without it but is it possible? Seems like I might be able to move the console a little bit back but would I have enough room to squeeze the non charge pad out and the new one in? Please if anyone can help me. Or am I out of luck? The good news is that I at least can get the cup holder cover console in. Note: in the first pic you will notice a bolt way back under the tray.
