So I went to my dealer to try and get schematics for the 2nd gen GT1 and this is what needs to be spliced. I wrote which color wires are supposed to splice which number wire and what it looks like in practice. Do this for both sides
Thank you all for the write-ups on this, lots of great info.
I got my CK71 lights installed and everything is working great, except I cannot get them to act as DRLs. They work fine as fogs, turn signals, etc. but they do not come on with the running lights. I thought I followed the wiring diagram correctly, so I am at a bit of a loss. I do have a 2022 GT2, so I know the wiring is a bit different from the previous years. I am contemplating purchasing the harness from KDM Warehouse, but I wasn't positive that would fix my situation either.
I was wondering if anyone has successfully gotten the DRLs to work on a 2022+ GT2?
I'm having issues myself and I have the KDM sub-harnesses.... i'm thinking that the sub-harness is setup for the switchback function, AND the CK71's also have a Switchback module wired in-line.
Whats is happening:
Wired it up best I could (there are no directions for wiring them up with the KDM harnesses), but it was trial and error. They worked perfectly for 3 days, then suddenly, the P/S one would not work at all, then, the next day I noticed the brake light on the same side was not working, nor was the factory LED's in the headlight lens on the same side working either. I pulled the sub-harness and returned it back to factory, all issues with factory lighting are now fixed.
I may be over thinking this, but it really feels like the switchback function is causing some kind of feedback or voltage imbalance in the lighting system, and i THINK the BCM is trying to figure out what's happening and its not sure what to do.
I got everything wired up, and it worked for the first couple days.
Drivers side LED strip stopped powering on the white light (only signal worked) and now after a few days, signal went out. Now all functions do not work.
I respliced, reconnected, test isolated the LED strip and it was good.
