I use "Active" LKAS sometimes on the highway and it seems to drive close to the right side always.
Can anyone share their experience on LKAS?

Mine works really well and keeps it in the middle for the most part. It does drift to one side when a turn starts but corrects it quickly back to center and the same for coming out of a curve. Maybe you need yours adjusted?

My dealership thinks it's normal for a vehicle driving with LKAS to stick to the right..and Kia corporate hasn't been much helpful in providing actual fact :( I've been waiting for their response for about 2 months now.

my question is are you allowing the LKAS to keep you in or is it just something you observed?, also if it is off you can have them recalibrate it typically it should adjust at same distance to both sides

I was letting LKAS and SCC to drive with hands off and I would give some inputs through steering wheel everytime I see a message asking me to put by hands back on.
I brought it to dealership once to take care of my rattle, they denied to calibrate the camera as they believed vehicle sticking to the right side was normal. However, their work order showed camera was calibrated, but it was still not driving in the center. so, I don't really know what they did.
I'm going to try again with the dealership soon.

Mine is pretty much dead centre however I have had it try to steer me into a medium strip a few times when the white lines on the road stop for a side street.
There is one particular spot on my way to work, after a incline there is a side street with island in the middle, if i left it up to car it would crash every time.

Is the road cambered to the right where you’re noticing this? I turned mine off after 2 days of ownership because the constant warnings annoyed the crap out of me in city driving. I’ve reactivated it a couple of times when highway driving out of curiosity and noticed that while it stayed mostly centred if the road was cambered much then the weight of the car would pull it in that direction.

The roads here in Michigan are crowned meaning the middle lane in the one direction would be on the top of concave. I first doubted crowned road resulting my vehicle to stick to right side, but I noticed that it stick to right side no matter what lane I was in.
and of course i made sure alignment is good.

also please everyone remember these are safety features to help not take over for daily use... be safe out there guys!

I don’t use it. Every time I try it tells me to pay attention and keep my hands on the wheel.......which I am ALREADY DOING!! Annoying as ****.

this is why I chose the GT not 1 or 2 since I did not want any of the drive assist or sunroof, I deal with recalibrating these things on a daily basis so I get rather annoying how much they can geet in the way sometimes or just annoy you

I do like the blind spot monitors, crash avoidance, auto headlights and wipers (mostly), just hate the lane keep assist. If it actually did ONLY that, instead of flashing warnings at me when my hands are still on the wheel and I’m still looking ahead, it would be ok. Sunroof is ok also. I have a premium and it is quiet as a mouse inside. No squeaks or rattles.

Mine, in Australia, seems to stick to the left of the lane. Maybe it is a design consideration.

It's just weird.
I tested 2019 Sorento and it was sticking to left and I also tested G70 and it was sticking to the right.
I was initially thinking that it could be a design consideration, but I can't seem to find any benefit from intentionally offsetting from center.

Not a big fan of it in the Stinger, unless mine is somehow messed up. The system yells at you after 15-20 seconds if it doesn't detect input, sometimes even with my hand on the wheel. I wouldn't mind if it would delay the tone warning, but it makes a warning chime at the same time as the message in the cluster which is stupid.

If I try lightly resting my hand on the wheel to prevent the nagging, the car drifts... badly. It basically stops trying to guide itself and follows my very minor input until I release pressure from the wheel. This basically makes the system useless. Trying to steer the car with the system active is annoying because it takes more effort. Resting my hand inside the wheel doesn't work because it causes the car to drift outside the lane. So far, my impression is that the system currently in these cars SUCKS compared to my wife's Telluride and my previous Tesla.

that’s not my experience with the Stinger lane keep, mine seems to randomly “yell” at me, the timing seems linked to the speed and maybe the complexity of the road even. I’ve travelled long distances just resting my hand on the wheel without any alerts.

I have had my Stinger 6 months and I have never turned it on once. Can't say why I would need it when I have two hands and eyes to drive. :)

This was the first feature of the car I turned off. I still get lane warnings, but no lane keeping assistance or stupid "you're meant to rock the wheel back and forward like a terrible 60s movie driving scene" warnings.

I only use mine on the highway for long trips now as city driving it was just too annoying. The stinger keeps it pretty much in the middle but does drift to one side or the other before turning in a curve, but then recenters, smae when exiting a curve, will go to one side or the other before correcting. We just picked up our Telluride Saturday and tried it out on the trip back and it is way better than the stinger. It seems to read and react to curves much better and keeps it in the center even when entering and exiting curves. Either better software or since it sits higher can see the lines better? Whatever the reason, it was flawless for the 2 hour ride home and the warning to put your hands on the wheel are farther in between also.
