How do you wash your Stinger?

Just bought meguires nxt wash. Opinions?
Our water does not come out of the hose like a slurpy so we don’t have issues like the Canadians! Lol

not a bad choice. I personally use the griots garage wash soap. Another good option is the Sonax car wash shampoo

I’ve used sonax but they stopped bring it into Australia. Their wheel cleaner was outstanding!

For shampoo I use Sonax Autoshampoo ... the most basic, cheapest one in a 2L bottle, red colour. Why? It works well .. enough foam, no strange additives like "wax" to annoy my other products etc. I don't see the point of expensive shampoos in the trials I did, they're not washing better or producing more foam etc than the cheap Sonax.

When I began with detailing like 15 years ago, I was overwhelmed with all the hype products on the market. I thought Sonax is a cheap DIY store crap brand. Let me say, that's complete bull. Sonax has a few excellent products that can easily compete on the top level. Their new foam is amazing .. so I immediatly bought it. Very, very little needed, so highly concentrated it is and it has really decent preclean abilities. Get a cheap, well working Alta Foam 2000 for mobile use as well and you're in prewash heaven.

You mean the bottle? Would be this 06183000 SONAX PROFILINE ActiFoam Energy ... as a profiline product, it's sadly not in many DIY stores. The foam itself is normal white.

(experimenting with dilutions in the vid) .. the shown one is too thick, he went further down there .. foam needs to slightly run down to grab and move dirt ... not stick like shaving foam.

He ended up using 5 ml (!) per liter water in the FM10 ... not sure about the alta .. have to watch again.

Sonax products are expensive where I am. However, we get boutique Korean brand stuff much cheaper than the rest of the world (e.g., Carpro, Gyeon, Fireball, etc.).

I use Fireball Premium Car Shampoo for maintenance washes and Carpro Reset to maintain the coating every month or two.

I am planning to invest in a foam cannon to be used at the self-car wash places when I see some good deals, in there, I plan to use Fireball Active Snow Foam.

All the car washes I've been to have foam canons. You don't use them?

Hand wash at home. Most of the time I will go with a rinseless wash but during the summer I’ll go old school and do a 2 bucket soap and hose wash.

Yeah they do. The one I go to also have foam cannons. It's 4,000 won for 1min 30 secs - It's a bit too short for me, I don't get a good coverage, lol. This one foam cannon they have on sale right now on Kia's red member's website by Detailing is like 34,000 won (i think it's 60-70% off MSRP). Then I'd only need to pay 3,000 won for 'rinse' water at the car wash for 3 minutes using my own foam cannon.

Also, I don't know what shampoo they use their foam cannons. I fear it's a bit alkaline to be a bit effective for the majority of people who just use the foam cannon as their only source of shampoo, but that will strip my wax. Though not entire, it may decrease the longevity of the wax applied. In addition, the shampoo may contain additives that give extra gloss after wash, again that may interfere with the bonding of sealants and waxes. I am not sure about this though, they may use high-quality ph neutral shampoo, may differ place to place.

I am not sure if what I said makes any logical sense to you, but it's what I told my wife so she can let buy one. It seems to be working though.

Seconded...my dad claims pressure/power washing can hurt the paint in some areas... obviously you have to use common sense.

Pressure washed the stinger today at the local cleaning establishment. I was careful to make sure the blast was about 3 feet away, and with out color coded ends, i could tell the spray was around 40 degrees(angle). So now that I have read your link i am feeling better about taking it there. Will still take it easy through the winter cleaning as i have PPF on half of the car.

Winter sucks this year..
