3.3TT How Do These Pistons Look?

Most Definitely......The "optimal" method is to "simulate" load by putting the vehicle in gear (D-with another person holding the brake or applying the parking brake for safety), then taking the temps one at a time to check for variation. Should you find a major temp difference, then something like the suggested "leak down" test could further verify your findings.....even after warmup, there may still be an issue that you don't notice but the temps won't lie.
We don't have individual ports unless it's a 2.0

That's right.....what a funky design.......No wonder there are so many issues when adding aftermarket exhaust....the difference in backpressure is probably like night and day......well then the plan B with the thermometer would be that there is only one exhaust port to read instead of six....with this design, the temp coming from the right exhaust port should be pretty close or identical to the left port. Which means about the only thing you could determine is if the potential "misfire" is coming from the right bank or the left.....although not as precise as getting a reading from each individual cylinder, you could still determine if there is a temp variation in the exhaust.

Thanks for all the input, much appreciated. Hopefully will look into this some more over the Xmas break period.

I did notice that this only happens in Comfort and Custom modes. All this week I've been driving in Sport, but not spirited, and have not noticed this happen at all. No idea what this would mean.

I get the same thing when accelerating after cold starts. Replacing the plugs fixed it for about 5k miles and then it came back. It doesn't seem to happen in sport mode so I just remember to switch over to sport when I start it up in the mornings.
Whats your gap on the plugs? Cpuld be to far apart and it fowls up fast? Just a thought idk if this happens

Mine does that cold start hiccup but runs totally normal and I’m all stock other than intakes. It’s done that cold start hiccup for as long as I can remember so I assumed it was normal.
Mine does it too and I only have intakes
