Holden Comodore vs Stinger: Not even in the same league

Oh no, there is no debate. Multiple medical health care professionals have concluded I am an a**hole. Its actually part of the Meyers Briggs test.

Girlfriends, Ex wifes, current wife (who is way hotter than wife #1) they all would tell me on the daily about my assholness'. I have come to accept this.

The subaru forum has a "this thread is worthless without pics" smilie.. How else can we take your word about the wives - after all, you're an a**hole..

You’re just looking for trouble aren’t you mate ?

Most of the Aussie members here (me included) are ex-Holden drivers who left the brand because we didn’t like their current offerings such as the VXR you’re talking about. I doubt you’ll find any of the Aussie members who would consider any of Holden’s current crop to be better than the Stingers we bought instead of Holdens.

So stick that up your delusional arse.

My mind may be delusional, but my arse has an excellent grasp on reality. Why do you think I post it on my avatar? My arse has super powers. It is perfectly round. Scientists use my arse to evaluate the moon. My arse will not be denied!

So, once an arsehole always an arsehole?

Yes. It is primarily genetic. I was also diagnosed with "Homicidal Ideation." I asked my psychiatrist "doesn't everyone want to kill their boss?" He said "yes, but you had a plan...I wrote it down in our last visit. You have a Glock 23 and 40 caliber JHP (hollow points...they expand when they hit the body). You were going to double tap her and then shoot her in the head."

The next thing I knew he was trying to get me to get rid of all my guns. I lied to him, telling him I only had hand guns. I actually have several long guns, my AR-15 has bullets that will penetrate body amour just in case our government try's to disarm me. To his credit, the medication he gave me did tamp down on my tendency to kick my dog.

I gotta give you guys credit, you are fun. I have been on many, many car forums dedicated to high performance. I was told that all the rules and regulations make it hard to mod cars in Aus. I am talking about cars that are heavily modified like my old Porsche GT2. It had every mod possible short of an engine build including a 3 inch exhaust and no cats. I dumped $30 k into modifying that car. These cars would never pass inspection in CA or Aus. They pass in Texas because we do not measure exhaust, to get your car legal you just hook up to the computer port and bingo, you pass inspection. If you don't you just slip the mechanic a $20.

You see trucks here spewing waste into the environment, in CA a cop would pull you over and measure your exhaust and give you a ticket. Not in Texas. I love living here, but it is still a wild west mentality. We do not trust government.

The safety nets in Texas are very small and infrequent. If you want good healthcare you have to have a good job. There is also no income tax.

I stay here because of all the incredible rights we have, and it is a much much better place to raise a family than NY or CA. My only complaint is that there are a lot of religious fanatics here. Not a day goes by that someone does not lecture me on the need to let Jesus save my soul. That shit gets old, as I am a Buddhist.

OK, so what does all this mean for you Aussies? You want cars that are already fast from the factory. With a JB4, and intake you have a fast Stinger that is legal.

Quite a few people over here used to be " Ford" or " Holden " enthusiasts. Our family have owned both. Our Fords proved long lasting and reliable. The last Falcon we had before getting our first Kia had done over 300,000 kms.
The Holdens we've had, a Camira and a Commodore proved unreliable and would break down on us.
So no, I don't hold Commodores in high regard but that's not saying they are all " crap " you can get a lemon in any brand. We must have been unlucky and got two.
Never had issues with the Kia's and owned them the last seven years.
Definitely prefer my Stinger over a Holden any day.
Shit you actually bought a CAMIRA...and your still sane ! :poop:;)

There's only one car worse than a Camira - and that was the Commodore L at the same time, with the 1.9L naturally unaspirated 'Starfire' engine with a blistering 54kW if memory serves.

The Camira is also possibly the worst example of Australian motoring journalism, when it won Wheels Car of the Year.

Lol. That was my first car. A 1980 4cyl VC Commodore. I’ve since upgraded.

My mate bought a CAMIRA and it wasnearly the death of him, spent more time at dealer broken than he got to drive it.

Yes, nearly drove us mad, breaking down especially crucial times, like when we took our friends heading to Melbourne to see an footy match and we ended up parked on the side with bonnet up waiting for an RACV tow.
Then the fun times of keeping your feet on both the brake and accelerator at the lights to keep revs up so you could keep going or it would bloody stall. What a crap car! my uncle was the one whom steered me to buy it because it had been an ex RACV car, in his infinite wisdom he thought it would be a good buy

I have distinct memories of a yellow one being in the family, but I can't for the life of me actually place it in the family vehicle history.

I remember an XD Falcon, a brown VH Commodore, then a procession of Volvo's (after Dad had one as a courtesy car and was hit by a drunk driver who ran a red light, straight into the driver's door at 80km/h - yes, he survived) - a 244, a 245, a 240, a 760, a 940. There was an ED Falcon at one stage, a Ford Granada, Rover 216i (effectively a Honda) and a Citroen XM (beautiful vehicle) as work cars when we were in the UK, followed by more Volvos when we returned - 940, 850, S60.

The Commodore L fits in somewhere - I just can't figure out where.

A week after Buick announces no Regal moving forward & as predicted the Commodore will cease late next year, couldn’t have come quick enough, time to put Holden out of its misery.
Holden drops Commodore and Astra

It was only a matter of time, I just watched it announced on 7 News , 10 minutes ago, titled " End of the Road Commodore "

John Cadogan from youtube channel " AutoExpert TV " is gonna have a field day with this announcement, I can see that video being posted real soon.

All the tv networks made a big thing about it claiming Holden are no longer making the Commodore. As usual they don’t check facts before going to air, Holden haven’t made a Commodore since 2017. That rebadged Opel Insignia they’ve been trying to push wasn’t made here it’s a crap German import. Holden don’t make any cars of any model. Sad to see it but they’re circling the drain now. It’s only a matter of time before GM dumps them and just rebrands dealerships as Chevrolet.

I agree with you Mr Hankey.

Posted the link to AutoExpert TV YouTube video but then realised @DCBStingerGT started another thread with it, so I’ve removed the video. Anyway let’s see if the prediction comes true that Holden is gone by the end of 2020
