Interesting - looks like it has some GT2 parts like shift by wire & wireless cell phone charger, some GT1+ parts like the HK audio and digital dash, plus adds the carbon fiber, alcantara, and suede headliner. Yet pricing is closer to the GT1. Wonder if it'll have everything the GT1 does, like adaptive suspension, cooled seats, etc.

They should have given it an audible exhaust and added 10-20 HP. I suspect the drift mode will make it in to 2020 models. At least drift mode means we should be able to do a tire warming burn out now with out the ECU cutting throttle.

That’s all related to allowing the drift mode of the AWD to function.

So it's basically a GT0 with an appearance package, a sunroof, better audio system, and a more advanced AWD system (if you want it). It's a shame this isn't offered with a better transmission (why not put a dual clutch in this?!?!). Also, $46,500 and no navigation? lol

CAn you imagine a dual clutch stinger <3

Why is this cheaper than the GT2? What is it missing?
It doesn't have navigation, cooled seats, 360 camera, heads up display, etc. Not sure if it will have radar cruise control, since the radar panel is shown in the pictures but that's not included in the base GT. Same with safety features like rear cross-traffic, lane departure correction... I'm confused on the package features outside of the cosmetic stuff

Probably a good thing that they didn't have this 2 years ago or that's what I'd be driving, making 2 orange cars in a row for me. I'm surprised that it's not fully loaded, as traditionally that's the only way Hyundai/Kia offered their "special" packages.

So, when are they offering this in a color that is still palatable to someone NOT trying to stand out at the office? I think my wife would never stop teasing me if I got an orange car. And yet, the want for D-AWD is strong.. I can live without nav. Would probably want the cooled seats, though..

Keeps getting better and better.
If that orange looks anything like the one from the SEMA Stinger from Stinger Hauss. Then it's going to look amazing.

Speaking of this, besides the fact the 18 and 19 AWD Stingers have an open rear diff, I think 100% RWD is possible in the car's current state. When doing my wheel swap this weekend, I noticed the front wheels were 100% free spinning when trying to unbolt them with what felt like zero friction. This makes me believe the clutches that control the torque split were completely disengaged when the car is off. Further to this, there was some literature stating that our AWD cars are supposedly running RWD only over certain speeds. Between these factors, I think those of us with a car older than the 2020 model year could potentially have RWD with a tune that controls this aspect of the AWD system. Or you could just pull the fuse as some have done...lol.

Also, you know who would have bought orange? This guy.

Because they don’t have a dual clutch already in the Stinger parts bin. The only “new” thing is all done through coding.

People have had AWD cars on single-axle dynos with the fuse removed to disable the F/R diff clutch, so it's probably just a "supported" implementation of that.

That combined with a LSD rear diff. I'm betting the transfer case is no different. Just a "tune" of the AWD programming and a rear LSD...

Maybe Kia can offer this upgrade in 2021 for those with the standard AWD? lol.

Well...Kia just bought my Yellow one back...do i jump back in with Orange...oh the wife is not gonna like this convo

I hope that coding can at least be applied to previous model year cars! RWD at least.
