Have you been challenged?

I was pushed a bit by a souped up mini cooper.....he disappeared a few times in my rear view., when he did catch up he yelled out the window, ''Man thats fast!''.
Your running the 2.0?

Huh? Motortrend quotes 6.6 seconds...that's 2 seconds slower. Though, I'm sure there's a few tenths here and there.
"The Stinger runs 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds, 1.4 seconds slower than the 2.0-liter A5 coupe, and 1.1 seconds slower than the BMW 330i sedan we tested earlier this year. The quarter mile takes 15 seconds even, the Kia sailing through the top end at 95.2 mph. The Audi nails it in 13.8 seconds at 100.5 mph, and the BMW nails it in 14.3 seconds at 98.5 mph. Things are a little closer on the figure eight—the Stinger's 26.8-second time is just five-tenths of a second off the A5 coupe and seven-tenths behind the BMW sedan."

The official Kia 0-60 for the 2.0T is 5.9. I am quite sure that it can be beat, just like the official 4.7 0-60 for the 3.3TT has been beat. Those "official" figures are conservative.

Never seen an official number like that from Kia. Even Car and Driver lists it as 6.1. And obviously any numbers can be beat, all depends on driver, tires, weather, etc. But to say the 2.0 is one second slower than the 3.3 is silly. All actual testing shows otherwise.

I was going with the top quote highlighted in red, And 2/10ths of a second....It's still rounded to a second slower.......so I guess I'll be silly, still it is a second or close to a second as far as I care.
I really think you 3.3 owners find it hard to except that the 2.0's are a quick car and are only rivaled by a mere 1.2 seconds........sure reads that way to me....course I'm silly remember.

Actually, I like the styling of the GT versions more-so than the speed. Though, the extra speed is nice for when I go up against anything faster than a Mini Cooper :p

yeah, I didn't pick the opposition, lol but this kid, and he was a kid, was driving the wheels off it to keep up......when he yelled out the window it was a compliment all the same..:)

I won't lie, the front splitter and rear cooling ducts are what makes the 3.3 very appealing...and to me, envious. But It's all about the benjamins to me and what I get for the money.....so for 24 k I get a stinger and a 10 year /100,000 mile bumper to bumper waranty....not powertrain mind you...no no, from the front license plate bolt to the rear license plate bolt It's ALL covered.....How could I refuse?

10 year 100000 is power train only from kia. Unless you bought something extra.

Mine is spelled out EVERYTHING electric, body, motor, something, anything goes haywire , it's covered.there is a hundred dollar deductible each occurance, hell I blow more than that on KENO.

Just north of Seattle on I-5, lanes moving back to 3 from 2 (yah, traffic designs in the Seattle area are "brilliant"), and I was about to pull into the emerging 3rd lane (left lane), and out of the corner of my eye a BMW 3-series blows past me, nearly taking off my back end, and I swerve back into the middle lane, and then move over. He then slows down well below speeds we should have for the left lane... A few miles later he veers off and races up an offramp only to slam on the breaks at the stop...

Sincce having the Stinger (only for 2.5 weeks now) I've had a few times were 3-series drivers (always 20-something guys so far), either want to blow by me - any lane, doesn't matter which one I'm in - or race me, etc... And they have all - best I can tell - seemed kinda angry. Baseball hat toting kids.

Maybe they hate KIA? Maybe their are jealous they had to buy a used BMW and guss it up because they wouldn't qualify for a Stinger loan ; )

Not sure what the deal is, but based on 0-60 times, the Stinger can take out most any BMW 3-series unless it's an M-version, and that's a different performance story.

Again, not sure what's going on, I don't care for it. I do really enjoy the handling of this car. Really strikes the right balance, and I have that power to blow by some trucks of slow pokes in a lane not paying attention to those behind them, etc... It's all good. And the fit and finish. VERY impressed. It's top cabin stuff, which I don't think anyone is expecting from KIA but there it is. S. Korea is taking their time pumping out a quality build in the Stinger. And the price? Wow. Win, win, wins all around.

absolutely! every word!

But this is where your JB4 box comes into play, and spanks the M's too.....unless he's got a box ! :) Wash

Yah, I'm not into racing on public highways putting people in massive danger like this 3-series moron did... And I'm leaving my Stinger alone as is - stock. Mods are cool and all, but I'm more than happy with my 0-60 and passing speed power. Thanks man, have a good end of week.

1 second in the 1/4 mile is roughly 10 car lengths lol

Trap speed is what everyone should be measuring when talking about roll racing. Looking at 1/4 mile times the 2.0T is just about 2 seconds slower than the GT (14.6 @ 96mph // 12.9 @ 111mph). 2 seconds is huge but 15 mph is huger. Even the difference between the AWD trap speed of 108mph and the RWD trap speed of 111mph is massive.

The 1/4 time is actually TWO seconds slower. So let's call it 7 bus lengths.
