Thanks. The TSB also says to extend the hatch bumpers tooThat was probably me. here is the part you remove on each side of the hatch. Take them off, add a pad and washers to each, and put them back on.

thanks for that. um, i just have to ask myself, "self, why are we, (who dont work at kia), the ones that are finding these bulletins and having to tell the service department how to fix it?"There is a newer version of this TSB.
Because a lot of service departments are generally lazy and don't want to do any more than the bare minimum because it costs them time. Like the pending argument with Chevrolet over my wife's 2017 Corvette with a bad torque converter shake. They've said it's the tires, the wheels whatever other than exactly what the class action lawsuit says it is. They gave her three or four TSBs that say "it's not what you think it is". however to properly diagnose the proper root cause you have to turn the issue "off" and back "on". THey rebalanced the wheels and said "we're done" however the problem still exists. The worst was when the "transmission guy" finally said "All Corvettes are like that". Seriously. Good thing I wasn't on the phone with him. Even my old 328xi with 130K+ miles didn't feel like that on the highway.thanks for that. um, i just have to ask myself, "self, why are we, (who dont work at kia), the ones that are finding these bulletins and having to tell the service department how to fix it?"
