So, if you went into the police station with proof on your dash cam that some idiot went through a red light, they would do nothing ? they don't particularly care unless it's an actual accident ?

Agree. I have HWP units come to my building regularly (for a meal) so next time I'll ask one. On Friday I said to one "it must be cheap chicken night as you're the 4th in the last half hour"....he just laughed.

You could but unless you’re prepared to provide a statement and give up your time to go to court then what’s the point? If everyone went to a police station and reported every red light runner the police would have no time to do anything else. Also it’s not just as easy as saying look at the footage and send someone a ticket. In this case it’s a charge and court appearance not a ticket. There’s more to it that I won’t go into here. It’s a lot easier if the police actually witness the offence.

Hopefully answered above. I get it Shannon but seriously just let them enjoy their meal break, most times they’ll get called away to an emergency of some sort and not finish their meal break anyway. Also people commenting to cops about what they’re getting for their meal or how many of them are at the shop getting a meal is as annoying as those other idiots that insist on pointing at someone every time they see a cop and saying “he did it” or “it wasn’t me” or those stellar parents at the shops who tell their kids “behave yourself or the police will take you away”. You’ve got no idea how annoying that it is. I can only image it would be the same for someone doing an ultrasound on a man and having him say “so is it a boy or a girl”. I’m sure these people all think they’re funny but when you hear it almost every day trust me it’s not funny.

Iv'e seen about three vehicles recently going through red lights, sometimes I think it maybe inattention on the driver's part rather than out right deliberate but lucky there were no near misses.
Even though I caught one on my dash cam, Iv'e never contemplated going to the Police to report it, Iv'e just thought at the time " pity the police aren't here " but as you said it's better they witness it and deal with the driver.
Iv'e only phoned them once when I saw a car all over the road and thought ? maybe he's drunk and is posing a danger to other road users, I had his plate and they advised they would follow up.
I realise they have more pressing concerns than the public running in with insignificant issues.

My wife had a sighting yesterday. She came home from work put her hands on her hips and said "Sooooo one of your STINGER buddies almost hit me today! I was on the highway and this D-bag was going over 100 and shot over three lanes with ZERO turn signal and cut me off on the exit ramp then slammed on his brakes. Tell the Hive (air quotes) to chill out...they're giving Stinger owners a bad name" Must of been a previous BMW owner

I'm sure you could always send it anonymous. They might not do anything for what you saw but would probably keep a lookout for the car in the future depending on what they did.
