Was out and about, which included getting an estimate on my damaged LR rim: "just get a new wheel", they said, because the cost to repair that much damage would come close to the same cost as a brand new one.
I pulled into Auto Zone on 7800 South in West Jordan, and saw this Ceramic Silver.
An Auto Zone employee was helping a customer at their car and I asked if he knew who the owner of the Stinger was and he said, "Yeah, that's my boss's car." I took the second pic and as I was about to walk to the front door, the boss/owner came out. We two were coincidentally questioned on the spot by a random guy who wanted to know "what car is THAT?"

So, we let him figure it out and said, yeah this is a very cool car.
Then I asked the other Stinger jockey a couple of intro questions, such as "How long have you had it?" And, "What do you think about the car?" And he had to tell me a tale of woe. I said, go for it, I'll take the long version right now.
He shared a horror story of dealing with Jerry Seiner of Salt Lake, and Kia Corp: over his first Stinger, a White Pearl GT (which he had bought in May, if I recall correctly), when the engine suddenly quit, dead, on him and he coasted off to the side of the road.
SEVEN WEEKS later, Kia finally refused the warranty because he had put in
aftermarket air intakes. (When Kia is good, they are very, very good: but when the are bad, they are Horrid.) Because Kia refused the warranty, Lemon Law was not an option (I've never heard!?). They gave him three options: keep the car after they put the engine back together, but it wasn't going to work (Jerry Seiner said he had thrown a rod, which is completely bogus; as he knows cars and knows what a thrown rod is like); I can't remember the second option, but it was equally bad; or, trade it in on a brand new Stinger.
He did that. But Jerry Seiner allegedly charged him $15K for "the repair". He asked them what they had repaired, and they wouldn't tell him: this he found out, after his new deal was done. He says that his new Stinger, with that cost deducted from the trade in value, plus negative equity means he owed c. $74K for his new car!? I have to wonder why he went through with it; but possibly a combo of bad information resulting in bad decisions.
He still doesn't know what Jerry Seiner ended up fixing after he gave up on his White GT; but they sold it and wouldn't tell him anything. He's still pursuing this legally. I wish him luck!?
Clearly he loves the car. He regaled me with the list of
mods he's done, and pointed to the pair of burnout marks down the length of Auto Zone's parking lot, made on Sunday. (which you can see in my pics

) And this one hasn't had anything go wrong with it since last September except the two dark chrome strips over the front doors going crazed/discolored, as some do; the two rear strips are perfectly fine, heh!? He's already tried rubbing compound to no avail and has about decided to "black them out like yours"; he thought from a distance that mine were blacked out. I took him over and showed him that they are just OE dark chrome still, but perfect. I wish him luck on that too: because his appeal to Kia is taking months for this fubar as well.
He had not heard of KiaStinger.com until I told him. But he's put his story up on one of the Stinger Facebook groups.
