GT2 Headlight Adjustment

I actually read my reply to the wife for approval she didn't mind she's lived with it for 26 years and 1 day.

Did you go down the path of LED reverse tailights ?
I did the upgrade, it's cheap and well worth it if you've ever had problems seeing what's behind you at night in your reverse camera. I always back into my driveway, before it was hard to see the retaining wall I back up next to, now I can see it as clear as day.

Reversed out of the garage last night , its a very tight squeeze the wife who (was or is that whom? I might have to ask Merlin.) Was guiding me out behind started complaining the reverse lights were blinding her. In Stinger talk thats a good thing:D

Upgrade what’s sitting in the passenger seat! That’s even ruder than bitching about your headlights.

If someone was to say something like that about my partner, I'd wind down the window, give them the universal finger gesture and tell them their lucky not to get a punch in the kisser.

After adjusting my headlights I noticed that the headlight no longer turns with the steering wheel. Anyone else run into this issue?
Did you find out what was happening? I know the headlights don't turn when below a certain speed. Curious as I will be adjusting my headlights higher via the Philips screw driver method .

Yeah my stingers DBL headlamps are aimed way too low at the ground. What's the purpose of having them set up this way?

No Idea why they did this. Almost unsafe to me. The key question is what is the purpose of raising them? Raise them a bit and you will see how good they are. So much better when you are throwing out some light beyond the 100 Ft. or so the factory aim allowed.

A couple of other threads on raising the headlights were contributed to last week. The consensus is that a No. 2 Philips 8" screwdriver will work best, unless the worm gear gets stripped out; then taking off the boxes and using a ratchet will work, with a "bit" more work.

I've raised my headlights and it was literally like night and day difference in how I approach night driving in the Stinger. I've since lowered them almost halfway back to where factory setting was; but I have yet to try them out at night to see if I like it better where they are set now.
Stinger Headlight High Beams
How To Adjust Headlight Beam Height

Sorry to bump an older thread, but I came across this issue as well (low headlamp aim) so I wanted to contribute for anyone reading in the future:

I work in the automotive lighting industry. I was shocked at how low the aim was on the factory GT2 (adaptive) lamps. The cutoff (flat portion at the top of the pattern) shines about 50-60 feet in front of the vehicle, on a flat road. I have seen a lot of bad factory aiming, usually it is too high. But in the Stinger, driving at night is miserable with the factory aim.

In general terms, FMVSS/DOT aiming and beam pattern standards call for that top of the cutoff to be parallel - that is, it should shine to the horizon on a perfectly level surface. The factory aim on my 2018 GT2 was at least 4-6 degrees lower than it should be, which makes a HUGE difference in distance of the headlamp beam.

To aim the headlamps properly, park on a perfectly level surface with the car at least 20 feet from a wall. Look at your headlights - you will see a small dot in the center, molded into the plastic. This is intentional, indicating the optical center for aiming. Use a tape measure and determine how far off the ground that dot is. If it's 30 inches, go to the wall and measure 30 inches up. The top of the cutoff should be 30 inches up as well. If you lower your Stinger by 2", as long as it's even all around, your aim should NOT change! But it's always a good idea to re-aim when you do any kind of suspension change as it could alter how the vehicle sits.

I just went to a dealership and they fixed it for me in a few minutes giving them a little raise. They said however that lights were calibrated perfectly according to their leveler machine. I just told them to do it anyway so they did and now it's like a day and night difference!

I'm sure you figured this out already but I had the same fears as Thang after adjusting my beams up a bit. But as others have said in this thread, you just have to make sure your headlights are set to "auto" which I did not do due to me switching them on fully in accessory mode to measure while I adjusted while having the car off. In any case they are still swiveling in auto now and the beam adjustment went great. I tried the screwdriver method but taking out my cold air intake filters and using a wrench was much easier. 1/2" wrench worked for me if anyone was wondering. Shout out to @Mach_Tuck for this thread and helping us all see a little farther in the dark

Lowered my car yesterday on Eibach's. Adjusted my headlights by putting in a long skinny screw driver into the hole labeled U/D and twisted clockwise. It took a large number of turns but the headlight does indeed adjust. I was able to adjust back to pre-lowered height which I marked / labeled using painters tape on my garage wall.
Gt2?

First issue I had with the car - low beam LEDs projected literally to 20m / 66ft. Thanks to the forum, managed to fix that with a screwdriver in the service hole of the headlamps. Applied a bit of wd40 and it started turning smoothly. I can't believe the car has been driven for 4 years like that by the previous owner. Here is a preview of one aligned:

It`s in the car's manual - for LEDs, have the car 10m away from a wall, on flat surface; the lower edge of light should be 62-63cm from the ground. Mine was about 35...
