I picked up a nice bar of metal in the rear driver's tire from my local car wash. Man I'm pissed off right now. And noone has these tires in stock. Thankfully it is still in there and leaking very slowly.

350$ tire too.

Checked with a Costco near you? Got mine in Florida by next day. Good luck :)

Agreed, check costco. Im local phx too and have been buying these same sized tires for years for my M3. Most places have to order and takes a day or two. Very few carry them in stock due to the "specialized" nature of the size and staggered fitment.

And yes, the price is a tough one to swallow. Always love paying $700 plus for rears only while the person next me is getting a full set with warranty for $400. Then again, pay to play with these cars!!

So not sure if this is true, but while at Discount Tire the other day, they told me these tires have a 2 year road hazard warranty through Michelin that is prorated based on tread wear. One of my tires was defective, and had to replace it under a similar warranty. Paid $61 out the door. Before I was aware of the road hazard warranty, I had to buy another tire (due to a 6 inch long bolt hitting it) and paid $240 at Wheel Specialists Inc in Tempe. I think Discount has it for about $250. But they will price match. They got me the new tire the next business day.

I’d also contact the car wash to see if they will cover the damage.

The tires are only available directly through michelin for discount. The dealer has them cheaper anyways. Let's see what they say when I go in Friday.

I assume it can't be patched? Dealer fixed mine for $35. Could have had the local Les Schwab do it for free, but they are not always careful.

I know that feeling, am in Canada and the tire needed is across the country and are pricey. Haven’t driven my Stinger all week since it’s on the donut. Mines from a pot hole:mad:

Dealer found one.. putting it on today.

Am getting rims and tires put on, going to use the stock rims for winter.

Agree big time Soca Boy!

I have, down my street a really good hand car wash. Love it!

Need to find one of those in my area, we do have a really good drive through wash though, pricy but good.

Magic Clean is a good automatic drive through. And up in Portland last month, near my brother's house is a spanking new Kaady Car Wash. It takes you through, you stay inside. Quite disorienting! But effective. The driers were very good at getting 99% of the water off. I had to go over the bugged front to get the more stubborn things off (heh, 800 miles of bugs), but the wash had softened them and their moistened carcases came away easily enough.

Of course, this is anathema to anyone who won't try a car wash to save their soul.

My Optima needs a serious exterior cleaning, haven't had a detail and wax since last year. All this rain has stopped me from doing it but I need to get it done before the winter. the paint is looking flat now.

My main concern with carwashes is the "rail" or track that your wheel needs to go on/in for many of them in my area. I've seen some pretty bad scuff marks on tires and even worse, if they graze/scratch the actual wheel. Summer, Fall and Spring i'll be hand washing only but I gotta find a place for the quick rinse off during winter months in MD.
