Hmmm bloody annoying isn’t ityes, same here. Stock 20th anniversary mats, passenger mat wont stay down against the firewall.
I thought about Velcro too, but I was wondering if it might not be strong enough once someone’s feet start moving about.I was thinking about cutting knobs under the mat and putting a Velcro adhesive piece. I have done over 1500 km with a passenger feet's on the mat so if it was going to resolve itself, it would have by now....
Hmmm interesting, my floor mats only have 2 clips holding them in place, unfortunately the clips are closest to the seat end of the mats, not the end that keeps falling down.Plus I can't even work out how to remove them.![]()
I wonder if the GT mats are different some how, they didn’t have those ones when I bought mine, you’d think that they would be identical except that yours have GT embroidered in themI have the GT floor mats which have not moved since I bought the car.
I reckon I might invest in a clip
Could be worth a shotI haven't used my OE carpet mats since last December. Replaced them with the OE rubberized "Stinger" mats. Lovely! But, I hadn't noticed any curling anywhere with the carpet mats either. I have them bagged in the shed sitting on top of my A/S tires and OE GT rims.
Suggest that you take them out and roll them tightly forward and leave them that way for a few days, then put them/it back in. The forward roll should keep them from curling. Repeat as necessary. Should correct sooner or later.
Removal is easy but a bit fiddly until you've done it a couple of times: you slide your fingers under the mat and pry up on the retaining hooks.
Hi, Living in Australia, I,ve had the GT for 12 months...great car! About 3 months in my mats the same as your picture folded. I heavy velcroed the top of the Mat. The velcro stuck to the car carpet but wouldn't hold the mat. Is it a return to Kia issue or do I look for after market maps?View attachment 29459

Having issues with the passenger floor mat folding over all the time, anyone else ?
I ended up fixing mine with a tie strap, poked a tiny slit through the floor mat, then zip tied it to a spot under the glove box, good as gold.Hi, Living in Australia, I,ve had the GT for 12 months...great car!
