Exhaust Tips

Seem to be having an issue with one of my exhaust tips. Has anyone else had a melting issue like this. Seems like the inner exhaust tips on both sides deal with much more heat, as both are discoloured compared to the outside tips.

My one tip on passenger side is melting. Been on car for about a year and a half. Just noticed it this weekend. Wondering if it was due to a couple brake pad break-in procedures I did, or a long 600km trip .
I've experienced the same thing with mine. Bought them off aliexpress and they look just like yours.

That's why they're called "Cheap Chinese". Like the ones I got. Low $s = low quality.

Just take em off and do a light sand, coat of high temp black and reinstall.

interesting, but i'd be careful getting stuff out of the trunk after a long drive, at least with shorts on. ouch

Easy there, not sure why the hostility. My main post was to see if anyone had the same issue with these fake tips. Being critical off the bat isn't being helpful to anyone that may have the issue. Given I have an mbrp exhaust, the choices are slim in tip options of a high quality.

I did not ask if I could get help from a Chinese manufacturer to warranty it in my original post. You are correct that cheap tips are an issue and that I may need to buy new ones. That's not a problem for me. Just wanted to see if some others had the same issue or I got a bad one, or insight as to why just the inner tips have the issue.
Plenty of owners on here have the same tips of similar quality and I haven't seen anyone post discolouration or melting issues.

Is there any other higher quality tip that you or anyone can recommend for an mbrp 63mm inlet, or are all our options from China?
Yes a well known issue with fake tips.

Just doing some pre-purchase research here - for an MBRP SS cat-back, tips that have 63mm inlet are needed, correct? The AliExpress ones that lots of people seem to be going with have a Size A (oval measurements are 75mm x 105mm) and a Size B (oval measurements are 95mm x 115mm) ... I assume by the "63mm x 105mm" that's mentioned in here a lot, I'd want the Size A? But, on AliExpress it says they won't fit? Or should I just ignore that ...

On the 2022 Stinger GT2 I have BORLA CATBACK Exhaust on order.

OK i just looked at my stock pipes they are OVAL and the opening on the rear spiltter is also a Oval on the 2022. It appears the Borla Exhaust pipe is not oval its round which is fine as all this is going to be removed of the existing exhaust.

I was looking at these...https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001279915843.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000060.1.1d09595bMc3JB9&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreThisSeller&scm=1007.13339.169870.0&scm_id=1007.13339.169870.0&scm-url=1007.13339.169870.0&pvid=fc675343-17d8-48c8-8253-9a1087a9045f&_t=gps-id:pcDetailBottomMoreThisSeller,scm-url:1007.13339.169870.0,pvid:fc675343-17d8-48c8-8253-9a1087a9045f,tpp_buckets:668%230%23131923%2327_668%230%23131923%2327_668%23888%233325%238_668%23888%233325%238_668%232846%238114%231999_668%235811%2327175%2325_668%236421%2330830%23861_668%232717%237561%23313_668%231000022185%231000066058%230_668%236808%2332771%23203_668%233468%2315608%23155_668%232846%238114%231999_668%235811%2327175%2325_668%236421%2330830%23861_668%232717%237561%23313_668%233164%239976%23473_668%236808%2332771%23203_668%233468%2315608%23155&&pdp_ext_f=%7B%22sceneId%22:%223339%22%7D

The height at 75mm (2.95276 Inches) would clear but the 105mm width (4.13386 inches) seems like that would be too tight. see pics below ? a 75mm and 90mm would work but I don't see that sizes as their site indicates. Would the 180mm lenght be ok?

It would look better with Oval Tips for sure on the 2022 model.

With a 51mm Inlet size to match up the BORLA TIPS per previous write up by BUZZRUSH
51mm inlet size is correct right?

( Per BUZZRUSH Sounds good. Good luck and I hope you find the right size because those tips look awesome! Don't trust what Borla tells you. The pipe is 2.25 but necks down to 2 for the last foot or so. Several members on here will confirm this. I did a ton of homework on this and many people on here said the 51mm fit their borla perfectly. Not sure if my borla tips are a bit misshapened but I removed the entire muffler to fit the tips and the 51mm wouldn't fit over the exhaust. I then tried them on the OEM exhaust and they fit perfectly. Only way to know for sure is to get under your car and measure the muffler tips yourself. Ordering from Aliexpress can be a bit of a pain...long delivery times and if you want to return them, it'll cost you a fortune. If I were you, I'd buy the tips from Socal for 50...great price and if they don't fit (theoretically they should) you could always sell them on here to someone with the OEM exhaust. Much better than paying 130, waiting 3 weeks for delivery, dismantling your exhaust only to find they don't fit, then trying to return them and being told by the post office it's gonna be 200 to ship them back:mad:. This happened to me...twice lol. The risk vs reward going with Socals tips is definitely worth it. My 2 cents...good luck!

Thanks dawg! :p :D

EDIT:

Hi BrianSTINGER2022. It's funny you should mention these.

Firstly, these will only suit round exhaust tips on the muffler and I think your factory ones are oval (?)

As for the size, that's something you'll have to figure out since my rear mufflers are the 2020 Kia bi-modal option and are quad 2.5" round tips.
I chose 63mm inlet and 105mm wide outlet.

Here's the link anyway.

Now, as I said, I WAS very happy with these cheap chinese tips ( for the sound change in cabin ).

However, after a very short time, two things happened.

1. One of the rivet tails fell off and turned my exhaust tip into a babies rattle.
2. Also, as I expected ( but hoped wouldn't happen ) the tips made contact with the rear valance and started to wear and make noise.

Chinese tips_1.jpg

So, I've removed the carbon looking shells ( in the trash ) and have painted the steel inner barrels gloss black for future re-install if I choose to.

Chinese tips_4.jpg

However, as messed up as this might sound, I really liking my crazy short term solution ( turn downs ) !

Can't explain it but I think I'll keep it this way.

Just saw that you're planning on installing the Borla cat-back. It SHOULD have round tips.
