Very nice Indeed! Thanks for digging them up! I am going in the same direction, but with my white stinger.View attachment 29599 View attachment 29600 View attachment 29601
Nice job! Thanks for the pictures. Those look really good. Finally got time to install my exhaust and the Akrapovic tips ! with the MBRP exhaust I went with 63x89mm – it does require a little bit of trimming the diffuser OEM holes however not that much, there VERY snug in there and make a whole lot of a difference for the drone.
I think they look GREAT makes the car look so much meaner now !

Nice job! Thanks for the pictures. Those look really good. Can you expand on the drone elimination? Is the level of drone gone altogether or just lessened? I’ve never heard the MBRP exhaust IRL so not sure how you started.
Fantastic - sounds more and more like a good fix. Plus, you’re right, looks much meaner with the new tips. Now just to waiting a slow boat from China so @JoeMQ can install on the Borla.Thank you !
MBRP did advertised (on page one you see the flyer) that their exhaust is drone free however since it doesn't have tips, some user had experience some more cabin sound as the sound was reverbting to the end of the cats and just resonated in the trunk, then cabin ... so you could hear the HMMMMM on the highway at 15000 rpms.
It was found that wrapping the tips was reducing (eliminating for some, all depends on your earing too right) , however thanks to @SKStinger , I went with Akrapovic tips and it did the trick !! Basically adding tips makes the sound wave carry out the vibration out instead of resonating under the trunk ... at least that is how I see it
When I had my arm on the armrest and I punch it, I can feel the exhaust rumblingno sound, just nice feeling !!
Two things on the Akrapovic tips:
Maybe there's a clamped pipe extension that could be used with OEM exhaust and tips to reduce drone?
- the pipe extension needs to be shorter and less visible
- I wish they were oval!
1. it is enough to really go onto the cat pipe too right, so there are long enough to accommodate being slipped onto the exhaust cat tip
2. you can find oval, black out, blue tips, metal tips... to on Ali and have a look. I personally did not like the oval as I would have just painted the oem one black.
I assume you mean the tip that comes after the mufflers. The cats are much closer to the engine itself.you saying the pipe extension needs to be shorter on the Akrapovic tips. I am saying that they are this long to accommodate the different length of exhaust that don't come with tips, it is more like sleeve, it goes over the cats tip. Unless we talking about two diff things now haha
I don't mean the good-looking tips, I mean the metal tips that slide over the end of the tailpipes. They need to be shorter so they don't show inside quite so much in my opinion.I think I probably had another 3mm or so wich would take it the brand name.
But they don't protrude much, not much more than our OEM tips tbh. Maybe it is because they are round and oem are oval , you may noticed that come out more but they dont really.
