Nope.....nope.

Glad I bought my Stinger last month.

I just noticed the wheels: those are a No. The extreme pointy ends are stabbing into the wind on the left side, which means that they are trailing the "blunt" end into the wind on the right side: since I have "true directional" wheels, that unevenness just bugs me. I think that all OE wheels should be symmetrical or directional.

As for the EV6 replacing the Stinger: only an equivalent GT body style to the Stinger would have a chance of doing that, for starters; and AWD with rear bias is a must.

Calm down everyone. The article doesn't say that the Stinger is being retired or that the EV6 is replacing it. It just says that the EV6 is going to be Kia's "Halo" model, whatever that means. I interpret that as just being Kia's latest and greatest bright shiny object.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to give that one a "Hard Pass".
It is nowhere near as attractive, the all electric thing also does not inspire confidence especially with all the little random issues Stingers have after 3 years still. Also it looks like they grafted the back end of a Porsche Cayenne to it. Meh, just not my style I guess.

@MerlintheMad It looks more to me like they did some weird polished or machined lip on the spokes, not that they actually protude out farther, but I totally get what you mean. : )

I would buy this possibly in addition to, not in place of..

Agreed here. Halo cars are meant to generate interest and attract attention to the brand. For Joe- and Sue-six-pack, a yet-to-be-released premium/entry-luxury class EV is bound to do this better than a four year old niche product.

If there was an award for cars that attract eyeballs and compliments like nobody's business, yet somehow flies under the radar, the Stinger would be in the running every year.

Hummus, you’ve got that right! I see tons of WRX, Beemer, and Mustang drivers eyeballing the heck outta my Stinger as they are coming towards me on the roads. I had a guy in a Q5 pull into a restaurant parking lot right behind me last weekend, and he parked a couple of spots away. As I was walking by he quick gets out of his car, and says, “excuse me, but what’s a Stinger?” I said it’s a KIA. He said that he had no idea KIA made cars that look like that!

While it doesn't clear out say that the EV6 GT will replace the Stinger (but will replace the Stinger as the halo performance model), been suspecting that it will.

If that's the case, would be a disappointment as the EV6 does not have nearly the striking looks of the Stinger.

If Kia were to go ahead with a 2G Stinger, I'd even be OK if they turned it into a coupe-CUV as long as they kept the basic design language (with both the 3.5TT and an electric variant).

The Stinger combines beauty and athleticism. Like it was designed with class and sophistication in mind.
No doubt in the future the Stinger can defiantly be up there as classic status.

The EV6 is PUKE. it'll most likely be just as boring to drive as it is to look at.

Absolutely shocking how far Kia has come, the fact that you can walk into a showroom, filled with a Audi/BMW fastback competing Stinger, an actual real next gen EV that should go toe to toe with Tesla EV6 (Will see if those wheels really make it to the floor or if other options are available) The properly impressive and luxurious Telluride, and heck, even the new K5 is a properly great looking sedan.

What a turnaround.

Definitely seriously considering the EV6 for my wife so she stops stealing my Stinger.

The first practical reason to get an EV: cleaner, quieter and probably accelerates at least as fast; what woman wouldn't go for the EV?

Yup, she's gotten a bit addicted to rolling up next to dudes in EcoBoost mustangs and laughing while smoking them on her daily commute.
