EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) Light Flashing

I know some time has passed, but did you had this issues solved? I am in the same situation and the dealer has ordered a new sensor, hope will solve it.
Yup, the new sensor was cheap and easy to install and totally fixed the issue.

I'm in the same boat and trying to find the part online. Did you have to replace the whole reservoir for like $30 and the sensors built into it?

I would like to thank everyone in this thread....I have a 2018 Genesis G80 with 3.3 TT and I have this brake light issue as well. Drive on the interstate about 30 miles without using the brakes.....light comes on.
Shut down car...light goes out....till the next time. does not happen just driving the car around town and using brakes. Seems to only be highway driving and not touching the brakes.
All brakes and rotors replaced in March and brake fluid as well.

It is currently in shop to take care of some recalls and the Dealer could not get the same thing to happen but they drove on interstate for about 4 minutes, Had to explain exactly how to drive the car to get it to happen.
I was then able to watch them drive using GPS tracking on the interstate and low and behold same issue.
Funny thing was how slow the person drove back the dealership. Guess that driver did not trust the brakes.

I am looking for ideas on what to tell them to look for since right now the G80 is just sitting in a parking space for a week and a half. But I am enjoying their loaner which is a 2025 G70 with the 3.3 TT. I want to test launch control, I wonder if the dealer would mind that.

This is not a knock on you at all, in fact, props to you for trying to assist the dealer.

The customer should never have to spoon feed the dealership for diagnostic steps. Kia / Hyundai, have been a constant letdown in terms of their diagnosticians.

considering how they documented exactly what had to be done to get the light on and they went and half assed it.
We didn't get the light to turn on.
Ok, let me repeat...this is exactly what you have to do.
Get on interstate - get away from city traffic. drive car and not hit brakes
30 minutes later - light comes on.
They finally followed the instructions so light comes on.

For the dealer - it should not be hard - that light only comes on with a set number of variables.
Figure out which triggers happen and correct the problem.
Much easier than a check engine light which is numerous.

Car has been sitting in the same exact spot since Aug 16th. Not moved one inch.
so, I might need to go out there and lend them a hand on how to think thru this problem

Sucks to have to babysit the dealership like that. I feel your pain.

I usually say, you should never bring your car to the dealership other than for warranty work..
Your story is making me question if it's even worth it for warranty work! (It still is, obviously, but frustrating nonetheless)

Good luck, and keep us updated

update - My car has finally moved to a spot next to the shop. Sat for over 2 weeks in a single spot. I even did a close drive by on Sunday while the dealership was closed. Just making sure it was being parted out. I wonder how much longer it will take someone to figure out the issue. I will update when problem is found since all these parts are probably the exact bloody same.

Possible vacuum issue going on. Of course this is third or 4th hand and being spoken by a person who does not understand cars very well. They have to test drive the car again - so back on interstate for 45 miles out without traffic and using brakes and see what happens. Back to Genesis Tech support people to see what they say.
Back in Early 2021 the engine was pulled for the first of 2 turbo oil lines being changed (2nd one was part of the reason car was in shop)
I have always wondered if they had enough talent to pull and engine and do all that work and get it back in correctly.
Had a vacuum pump under the engine replaced shortly after that happened.

I am trying to get codes out of them. I like codes. Codes can be documented so that other will find them on a search and help with the issues.

Personally - all codes should be displayed on the screen with a date time stamp.
That should be the law.
Keeps people from getting screwed with repairs. Oh you had these 15 codes and here is the bill for everything replaced

I have some feedback --- waiting on extended warranty people to examine the car. I have been told the price of the repair and will not say at this time so as not to jink this whole repair. It is a Short somewhere under the hood. Involves the vacuum pump and brakes and make other issues.

Extended Warranty for the win. New Engine Wire Harness since there is a short plus a few other parts. have to drop the engine and trans for the repair. I might get the car back in October since they have to get a wire harness I guess from South Korea. I will add details next month. But since we share the same engine I was really hoping it was the brake fluid float being busted
