Has anyone taken out they’re spare tire out of the car for more hp or power? Lol, I know it sounds stupid, but I do know that weight matters. Please share your experiences. Thanks

I won't say that it sounds stupid, but it does sound a little naive. The Stinger is a heavy car, so weight reduction is a good strategy, but it will take far more than a spare tire. The old rule of thumb is 0.1 seconds improvement for every 100lb taken from the car. As with all car things, so many other things matter when hunting 10ths though. I think if you are targeting 100 to 200 lb in weight loss, you may begin to improve your acceleration somewhat, but I don't think losing a spare is going to do much for you. For the record, losing weight doesn't improve horsepower. It just makes the existing horsepower more effective by improving the power to weight ratio.

There is also rotational weight. I think it's 1kg is equal to 30kg in weight saving. Someone may know the exact weight saving? This also allows your car to rev quicker. Most common are wheels, alloy pulleys and lightened flywheel (not sure if an auto has a flywheel).

Does that have any appreciable effect on fuel economy?
If lighter wheels influenced fuel economy at all, the effect would be most noticeable by those who start and stop frequently (city driving) due to the reduced power needed to accelerate the lighter wheel. Any fuel economy savings would be offset by any rapid acceleration and with mild acceleration, there would be no obvious savings. My guess is that it wouldn't be noticeable to the average Stinger driver in 99% of cases.

It just increases your power to weight ratio. Same power but lower weight.

If you removed 3kgs of rotational weight, that would be like driving around with one less large passenger. If you have a heavy right foot, you will loose fuel economy.

Less face it, no one should buy a stinger if fuel economy is important to them.

Notice that some weight in the rear will help the contact from your rear wheels when accelerating unless yours is a AWD
