My reply was meant for you sorry haven’t been here in a while forgot how to reply for a min there
What do u mean? How much did it cost? I realized the problem after putting down 500 bucks deposit. Is it more than 500?

I am in Germany dont have to worry about speed limit. Just need some company to remove the speed limiter.
You can be jailed and have your driver's licence pulled for doing over double the speed limit. But don't let that stop you. It would be good to have a solid assurance that the way ahead is clear, of cops and people. Has happened only once to me thus far.

We'll have a little stand alone speed delimiter available soon for under $100.

Excellent news. I’ll be pulling my all season Michelins and putting some new wheels/tires on just in time!
Oh yeah ! been waiting on this one for awhile ! Got a nice safe stretch of road I will test this out on no cops, almost no traffic , its a dead end.

Is this place a secret?

Is there a piggy back that can fool the ECU to increase top speed or do we have to wait for a tune? Reason why I'm asking is I bought one with All seasons on it as the dealer only had 2 both equipped with them in December. There was no disclaimer at that time and later we found out that the car is limited at 140 mph. Now I have noticed a disclaimer on Kia Site stating 130mph limit. I wont let them flash mine. Tires on mine are rated at 149 mph so this 130 is bunch of BS! Just Curious what my options are besides ditching the car for a 2019..

Yeah I have a 2018 Red GT2 with 19" tires even with a JB4 tune and Catback exhaust, still doesn't want to go much farther than 140 MPH. I just font get it, I see all these other ppl in stingers going 170+ and mine wont. Very upsetting, not sure what I can do about it.

You didn't originally have A/S tires did you? On 18" wheels? If you got a 19" wheels equipped Stinger, that's no guarantee that from the factory it wasn't intended to be an 18" limiter equipped model. Dealers will swap wheels if they think that in their area a 19" equipped Stinger will sell easier than one with 18" wheels. There is no way that a genuine 19", Michelin tired Stinger is going to peak at c. 140 MPH.

Yeah, I did buy the 19" Summer Tires package. I have the window sticker with my VIN number to provide it as well.

I actually went to a Dyno today to see If my suspicion in my old thread *New JB4 install, makes no performance difference at all* was correct and discovered that I am only making 280 HP to the wheels even with my JB4 tuner. It looks like my Boost Controller is defective, and I am only making 8 PSI MAX boost. Looking into it more.

If you're interested in helping test the SLD just drop me an email, terry@burgertuning.com.

I also emailed you, Terry. 2020 GT1 AWD, 19” wheels with the A/S Michelins and the 150mph limiter.

My JB4 450HP Kit will be installed next week and I’d be happy to do extralegal things in the name of product development!

Just sent Terry a testing request. Im tired of this 135 mph limiter, hell even my winter tire have a higher speed rating then those blah Bridgestone RE all-seasons the car came with.

This is great news. Will the feature also be added to the JB4 if someone just wants to go that route?

No it will remain a stand alone product, we've decided to use the I/O on the JB4 for something else.

Installing the SLD isn't for everyone, requires cutting an ECU wire as there isn't any other way to do it. Installation guide here: www.n54tech.com/instructions/kia_stinger_sld.pdf

Price for the unit will be $100. We won't be adding it to our site as we don't really want to sell it. It's just something we've got for customers who are stuck with the 130mph limiter doing track racing.

I’ve got to say, Terry, that your forum presence as a vendor is refreshing. Most vendors on other performance motorsport forums that I’ve been a part of do not take the time to meaningfully engage their customers while still providing comprehensive products and innovation.

EDIT: This isn’t a knock on any of the other vendors on this site. Just pointing out some positive and much appreciated behavior.

Thanks Terry. Does the speedometer function normally past 130 mph with this modification?
