Doors and sunroof very loud

FRom my perspective the Noise problems rank 1,2 3 ............Sunroof , Hatch , Doors

I'm familiar with the 3 stage door fix, but you mention the trunk. Did you do a DIY spacer mod or something else for the trunk? Just so I can be aware of options other than the TSB if that's not the ultimate fix.

Sorry I shouldn't of mentioned the hatch. I installed a Catback exhaust and was getting a new rattle from the vibrations. I put 3 small sheets of sound deadening mat in the trunk and that rattle went away.

Interesting they only adjusted the trunk striker and didn't replace the part in the tsb. That takes all of 1 minute and you can do it yourself with your fingers and a ruler. It helps 90% but replacement part is better.

Noise/rattle has not reappeared...dunno maybe theres a series of steps before directly replacing a part? If it comes back I'll raise the issue with them

Hey everyone! I’m unsure if it’s the same noise you guys are hearing but I am now hearing all sorts of noises from essentially all doors (including hatch) and it feels like the whole car is just loose and any turn moves some part one way or another. I recorded one of the most significant noises I am hearing from yhe driver side.

You can hear the subtle “object drop” kind of noise when I go over multiple small bumps.

Does anyone else hear this? If so, is there a solutuon for this?

I seriously do not trust my dealership at all. They are notorious for “could not duplicate” excuse and treat your interior like crap. They recently got bought out so hopefully this time the mechanics are more professional and competent.

Did you mean that sound appear around 0:09 ? That exactly what I'm heard when drive through some uneven road, but in my situation I can almost heard that from driver side headline.

Any updates out there on this? I have a 2019 GT1....door seals make noise, buzzing sound in hatch (sounds like a metal detector off and on).....but lately the sunroof is rattling all over the place. I love many thing about this car but it sounds worse than my daughter's 2001 Toyota.

Have you guys had luck getting it addressed?

hey has anyone else noticed that the doors in this car all sound like they moving around almost? It’s hard to describe but I can hear them creaking whenever the road isn’t perfectly smooth and they seem to get worse as time goes on. Along with the sunroof making a bunch of noise on its own, to me this is a really loud, creaky interior. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, should I take it into Kia?

I have 2018 stinger Gt & have had an ongoing problem with the Sunroof to the point that it has gone in 3 times in an attempt to fix & no luck Kia wanted me to bring it in again for a 4th time to completely remove # attempt to fix the Sunroof frame only to put the same crap back in. I told them unless they could guarantee that this would fix the problem once & for all, Then no chance They now have offered me to replace for brand new or full refund.. Now I have to decide what to do? . And yes there seems to be a lot of creaks & squeaks coming from the door seals more then I would expect!..

mate , if you have the op for a new car take it ! It sets the rule going forward for the rest here !! VERY IMPORTANT !!!!

Hey mate. Your right, but I don't want to go through nine months of Hell taking the car back 3 to 4 times as they have told me that this is a one-off deal and they will not repeat it again so any further problems they'll just try to fix it

I'm thinking whether to drop down to the 330 Si but I don't know if I can part with all those little extra features and yeah I don't know what to do

My doors , rear hatch and sunroof have gotten to the point of serious frustration , I made my case with the dealer and they have had my car for 2 weeks and have a case filed with Kia Canada . They have recorded the sounds and are promising a fix (including replace sunroof assembly and drivers seat bolster which has the premature wear issue ) ...................first year issues for sure .............I experienced the door creaking and other sounds on BMW costing double so I know it happens and can be fixed .....................fingers crossed

I feel your issue ! This is a great car , If faced with the same choice I definitely would have taken a new Stinger , we've had 9 BMWs before a radical shift to Kia's and I can assure you even the Germans have some serious issues ...................I now like supporting the underdog !! keep us posted !! hey, I'll let you all know what I decide as I have to do it very soon? I have had a love hated relationship with this beautiful looking machine but unfortunately kia seems to lack those little important refinements & for $60,000AUD I don't know if accept living with some of these issues?.. But I guess I could have paid almost double for a premium badge & have similar probs.?..
