Thanks, going to test it out in about an hour I have to go for a drive so either AC fully off or above 3-4 is when I should not hear this noise right? To confirm its 100% that

Update: my noise must be coming from something else i still heard it with climate fully off/ climate speed on 5. Right now as im typing this im sitting parked no noise, I hear mine as I drive. Like maybe something is vibrating on something else or something is rubbing its so weird its mind boggling. My last resort is ask the dealer when I go for service next month but I hate to hear the we cant replicate the noise crap

Sounds to me like exhaust is rubbing on something.

Try wiggling the mufflers/exhaust and see if there is any similar sound.

Thanks will try this. What could it be rubbing on? Is there like could be rubbing on this part or that part type of thing I can look at/touch myself to make it un rub? Lol

It has a similar sound to this one.

Thank you so much to everyone here. I had the weird "ticking" or "tapping" noise from OSH driver side that was driving me nuts. It went away during the winter (canada here) but came back during the summer when temp went up. Today, I think I can claim victory over the annoyance. I was able to hockey tape the OSH backplate and now it is silent!!

For those of you wonder if your "ticking" noise is caused by OSH back plate, try putting your hand/fingers @ OSH divot. You can actually "feel" the popping/ticking coming from the area.

For those who needs instructions, here is what i did:
0) open the door. lol
1) No need to open up B pillars
2) REMOVE THE OSH from the inside - there are screws hidden inside the casing that you can pry it open with your finger nails (the two "nobs that are fixed). Unscrew them using your phillips driver
2) remove the rubber gasket/seal that is touching the B pillar and A pillar - peel it open. It should pry it open. (This should be attached to your car frame, NOT the door)
3) Reach inside as deep as you can, putting your hands in between the trim and below or above (doesn't matter) the white tube/casing and trying to reach where the OSH used to be. )
4)Remove OSH backplate- you almost have to claw it out of the place.
5) wrap the center portion without covering the holes with hockey tape
6) place it back in there - make sure you align the holes of the backplate to the holes on the frame of the car ( you should be able to see two holes alinged up from the inside of your car)
7) screw the OSH back !

I went for a quick test drive -currently 32 C with full sunshine and I didn't hear a single noise from my OSH.
I would still hear occasional sunroof rattle/creak when going over large bumps, but those didn't bother me too much anyways.

Thank you guys!

OSH?

Howdy. At least you found this place. I came here (found it) by searching for opinions/advice on how to repair curb rash to my wheels. :D
I need to fix some curb rash on my wheels. Do you have a thread you can link?

I had wicked noise coming from this area when my car would sit in direct sunlight. The dealer took care of it, they said there was a TSB, but really for newer models than mine.

So far, so good!

Any idea what they did? I suspect something similar to what we have done.

Sorry, I was not that attentive :( All I know is they stated they had to order a part and something about new foam in the headliner maybe?

If possible, please call them and ask the details of what they did, or, see if you have a TSB reference number so we can all look up the details.

For squeaking elimination, I found this very useful. I had a knocking noise coming from the interior driver's side window trim piece, so covering it in cloth tape as shown in the first post really helped.

I then tested whether the last bit of squeaking was coming from the weather seals of the doors (the very top, where they meet the metal of the body). I placed duct tape along them and voila, noise was completely gone.

I removed the duct tape (ugly) and used Nextzett Gummi Pflege on all of the outer door weather seals, and that has completely silenced the car. However, I plan to do this procedure shown by this BMW driver, as I found having a physical barrier between the rubber and the metal worked better:

Super easy and very fast, just need to wait for the right tape to come in so it doesn't look as unsightly.
