Door Frame Ticking / Squeaking Elimination

Try the foam block removal first imo, which is super quick and easy. I also wrapped the backing plate but it's a bit fiddly and wasn't the cause for me.
Have same noise but only when the driver side has been sitting in the hot sun. As previously mentioned if I hold the oh shit handle slightly it goes away.

I can confirm that's the case: I get that same ticking, and all I do is either press on the oh shit handle or pull it down and hold it, and the ticking stops. I guess it's my turn to pull the trim out and do what you did. However, you didn't quite present how you wrapped the backing plate or what part was really making the ticking, so I'm guessing I'll have to kind of play by ear, literally, lol
I wrapped the backing plate (Post #306, 4th photo) in a layer of foam tape all the way around. To this day, I no longer have the ticking problem from this location. I can hear the same tick from the other grab handles when I back out of my steep driveway and the chassis flexes, but I can live with that once-per-drive tick. I couldn't live with the constant ticking from the driver's pull handle, which this solved.

2022 Stinger GT1 owner here, door ticking is still present in this model year. Too bad that I only found this forum after I got the car and searched for the specific issue. I hope I can fix with OPs friction tape solution, will report back soon.

Hatch rattling issue fixed by me with a set of four washers...

Howdy. At least you found this place. I came here (found it) by searching for opinions/advice on how to repair curb rash to my wheels. :D

They still haven't fixed the hatch latch rattle (from 2018) from the factory?!?! It's such a simple adjustment.... Staggering.

I know, I was shocked to see that those bumpers(positioners?) look exactly the same, no additional rubber pad and washers despite the TSB. I test drove with the windows down, did not even notice the first 2 days...

2022 GT2, same problem as others... If the car has been out in the sun, it creaks near the oh-shit handle. Messing with the handle makes it go away for a few seconds. I am surprised this issue has been going on all these years and they haven't fixed it.

The ticking was not coming from the door trim, installing friction tape as shown in the first post, didn't solve the issue, it didn't make any difference. The sound was coming from the backplate of the oh-shit handle. Wrapped the plate with the friction tape, completely silent om the driver side. I can still hear the same or very similar noise from the other side. I will wrap that too...

Edit: solution is described in #306 in detail. Unlike others, I heard the ticking all the time no matter where the car was sitting (mostly in my garage before driving).

My oh-shit handles tick. I'm just going to remove them and 3D print a cover.

Thank you. I just ordered some friction tape. I will report back. Hopefully, this solves it. Then on to the next problem (Heads up display is distorted.)

I'm happy to report that I did the right side too: total silence now!
It's a shame I have to be happy about it in a car that costs almost 50k and has 700miles...

I couldn't (easily) figure out how to get the area of the headliner open wide enough to either get the space or the oh-shit handle backplate out to wrap them. So, as a try it and see, I took the OSH off, and put hockey tape around every place where it connects to the backplate. It is now sitting out in the sun for about an hour before I need to drive it. It was simple, so why not...

How did you get a large enough gap to get those parts out? I removes the door gasket and the OSH, but that wasn't even close to giving me enough room in there?

You have to disassemble the B pillar cover plastics(?). Somebody linked a pdf with step by step instructions on how to remove the headliner. I followed that and it was straightforward. I did not remove the seats just adjusted them back and forth. You can also work around the seatbelt, no need to remove it...

Yikes. I’ll dig and see if I can find that pdf. Sounds like a major job.

Found it, post #303.
Here are the steps I followed and the ones I skipped on purpose.
1, 2, 3 -> skip entirely
4, 5 -> do it
6 -> instead of removing the seatbelt, just pull it away and
7 -> do it
8 -> do it

No need to do any of the following steps, not even the pillar A cover has to be removed. For assembly, just reverse the steps. Step 8 is going to give just enough wiggle room to remove and put back the OSH backplate. Wear some gloves, I got like 5 "papercuts" from the edges of the headliner.

Let me know if it worked for you!

So your quicker fix did not work?
No. Sorry, I meant to post that. It seemed like it might have been slightly better at best. No change at worst.

Hockey tape installed. It is sitting out in the semi-sunny outside for a while before I drive it. Fingers crossed this fixes it. I'll report back in a few hours.

EDIT: IT WORKED!!!!! I left it outside in the sun for a few hours, (it was hot in the car) drove it (silent), let it sit in the sun again for about an hour, drove it, no sound then either.
I was trying to see if the same problem exists on the passenger side as others have said, but so far I don't hear it. Now on to the HUD distortion problem.

Hi, i've had this problem for about 1.5 years and couldn't quite get rid of it, did hockey tape, seemed to work for a while then it returned. then used some thicker foam tape. seemed to work for a while then it came back. Whenever it came back, I could always stop it by pulling down grab handle so I am sure my issue is to do with this. My last attempt, which is still working was to use some small rubber window wedges ($1) and wedge them in between the plate and the roof... tried to simulate pulling down on grab handle. hoping this keep working, but I am doubtful!
