You just have to believe that it can't be much longer before *everyone* in Kia CS will know about this, and be able to immediately get your case rolling..

Ha Ha, thats a good one. Tell that to the five people i sent my odometer disclosure too...none of which seemed to be able to do anything with it except not do anything with it...

Uhoh...

I am also having issues with my paint. The car is 2 weeks old and there are several chips in the paint. Insane.

I have only captured 2 on this photo, but there are several more. I spoke to KIA corporate and they sent me to a nearby dealer. They took photos just 10 mins ago and that's where we noticed the additional chips, all the way down to the metal.

I am not happy. I was debating on going with Lexus GS F or a Mercedes E class instead and I wonder if I didn't make a mistake with this Stinger. I really don't want to keep going back and forth wasting my time dealing with a car.
Being a previous owner of an E350 and a C450AMG the Stinger is much more fun to drive, is faster, rides better, has a better warranty and is about 30k less then then the AMG was.

Will this late manifestation garbage continue? Or will the incidence remain a small percentage?

Take pictures. And wield touch up paint.

(edit to ask: Do you think that PPF or ceramic would prevent this or only put it off for later?)

I dont want to find out. I had mine done the same day I got the car. Mine has the 12/17 date. So far everything looks fine with 350 miles on it. If it manifest later, I'll make them pay for my ppf and ceramic coating

This week I noticed an issue where the front RH fender meets the nose assembly above wheel arch. I'll get dealer opinion when I take it in for initial 3k check probably next week. Haven't come across any other paint issues so far. Build 01/2018, Aus compliance 03/2018.

Update.....Dealer stated this appeared to be caused by impact. Showed me a very slight abrasion mark under the RHS of the front lip. Claimed that upwards pressure was the most likely cause. I'm careful when parking nose in and conscious of the lip and as best I can recall haven't hit anything. I believe the scuff mark was there prior to delivery. It's not a big issue so I'll let it go.

I pulled up to a curb at Applebee's Saturday night and eyeballed it. When I got out and looked, the forward lip was less than half a foot away from a curb that was taller than the lip. Holy Crap! The parking sensor had flashed a green warning (I always pull in very, very slowly) and I had said good enough. That was "kind" of the parking sensor, since the object was way down lower at an extreme angle and the sensor was doing its version of "bending over backwards to be of service". I love the long, sloping hood on the Stinger. But without extreme caution it is an accident waiting to happen. I've never been so leary of parking as I have been since getting into this car.

When in doubt park in reverse. At least that's what I do.

Good news! After 3 months and countless hours of followup KIA has agreed to re spray all my impacted parts, which is a majority of the car. Blue Nov 17 build.

Do you have any pictures of what yours looked like? I checked through some of your post history(stalker mode) and really could only find pictures you posted of your bumper with the headlight rubbing.

***** Update *****

I was supposed to get my car back today.

Kia refused to sign off on it because the colour was not right. Apparently, they used the wrong primer or something like that. So, it is getting redone starting today.

Sigh

I remember when I had a Stinger to drive, oh well, back to curb jumping in my rental.

Too bad they didnt take this approach on the first go around. To be honest, i am happy to hear this. Sorry for added curb jumping nonetheless

The black around the exhaust is black plastic. Why would anyone paint it? Is yours a mod of some kind (glue?)?
