No Tinker Bell here in Russia, unfortunately...

But we have Baba Yaga, that may help :D

I thought I was the Baba Yaga :D

Yes, a page or so back I posted where I did receive a call from Brad Holt, National Manager of Consumer Affairs for KMA (Kia Motors America).

After I went to the dealership and took pics, I waited about a week and then called Kia back as I had not heard anything. The next day I received a call from the dealership about taking the car to the body shop for a more thorough examination and pictures. Next day after I dropped the car off I was told the pics went to Kia and I got a call from Brad Holt about a week later.

My suggestion, call the Stinger CS line back with your case # and ask where they are with your case. I was extremely nice to them every time I called because those CS reps can't give me a solution, but I did let them know I wanted an answer.
I can not find this Stinger Customer Service # people keep referring to. Anyone have it?

Link is broken.....Cant open. Tell Vladimir to let the people have the internet!
No problem opening it here ... maybe you need to have a word with the Donald. As for our PM, I guess he's been too busy lately, recent reports have him going to hell (?)

Bobr: That's one scary lady - must keep the kids awake at night ... спасибо!

So, I’m meeting with a Kia rep at my local dealer so that he or she may take pictures of my paint to add to my claim. What should I expect/suggest, for those of you who have already done this?

I took mine in for pictures last week and it is currently being reviewed in Korea.
Premium Customer service # is 855-454-2847 have your vin ready.

Thanks for posting! I know this thread is for paint chips, but I think it might ease some anxiety for some to know not all models from around the 11-12/17 build dates are showing the issue. Again, my heart goes out to those owners who are affected by this. I just hope there isn't needless worry across the board, though of course time will tell...

10-17, 1k miles and no issues either. 1 chip, but I heard that one happen while I was driving, and it gouged the plastic underneath. Ow.

must be limited to a certain batch, have had my micro blue since dec and no chipping

Purchased mine 12/15, first in the region. I have at least five. Two are atop the driver's side fender, three are on the front of the hood. I'm afraid to look closer for now.

went to the dealer he said any chip i see to bring it back and they will take care of it. sales guy didn't know about the stop sale, but service guy seemed to know well about paint chip issue

Paramount Kia Asheville, one of the largest in the state still claims to know nothing about paint issues or stop sales. Then again, I had to get Kia corporate involved today just to get a faulty fuel pump replaced by them.

View attachment 8320 I posted this earlier. I found a chip at the rear edge of the hood on the driver side, days after getting it May 18th. The dealer is getting a touch up for me, wasn’t in stock in red. Odd color not to have stock? OK, it’s near where the wiper arm would strike but not really as I can pull up arm and it’s not near the chip zone. So some magic would need to apply. A rock hitting at that speed to do the damage would have to have struck the windshield too and would have left a mark, at least logic would seem so. Right now it’s the only one I seem to have. Clear Bra goes on next week. I hope it’s a one off and not just the first. But I am concerned.
I literally have the same issue on my red GT2 in the exact same spot. I thought someone messed with the wipers but it’s not in the impact area from that. But it’s also very rough like a scratch as opposed to paint chipping. Very weird!

A few people have reported chips in that area with new cars, on the driver side trailing edge of the hood where it's not going to be from a road debris impact, and not in alignment to be a wiper/hood interference issue.

I'm leaning toward something that happened during the build - perhaps a defect in their hood handling or paint support fixtures, or an assembly process that caused contact with something else. o_O

Exact same problem with my aurora black premium with 01/18 build date.
This may be the better evidence of paint issues since it cant be dismissed as normal rock chips.

I wonder what take "care of it means". The dealer doesnt have the authority to approve paint repairs. The claims go to the district and then Korea. The service guy taking pictures of mine said it would require a respray. (5-6 moderate size chips on the hood and fenders).

As a dealer we have zero say in this. I guarantee KIA is watching this forum so voice your concerns.

I am taking my babe in for service today. Just turned past 10K miles on her. Oil change, Hatch Rattle fix (again) and I am having an issue with my UVO system not working when my phone is connected.

When I spoke with the Service Department, I asked about the paint issues I have seen in this forum and on Facebbok on my Micro Blue and the Sunset Yellow, and they said they were "not aware of any paint issues".
I have chips and what looks like bubbling all over my babe. The chips on the front end I am sure are mostly from rocks etc. But on the quarter panels and around the back doors are what I can only describe as "bubbles" under the paint.

Will have to wait and see what they say after looking at it.

As long as it doesn't bother you leave it on. Its a clear protectant for those nasty pebbles that get kick up from our sticky tires. I left mine on and never notice them anyways.

They are factory applied clear protective covers, as that flared area is bad for being damaged from kicked up road debris - they should stay on there. Not uncommon to see protective measures in that area on other brands as well.
