does anyone have this problem with the super thin aluminum trim on their Stinger. I think it is from the fastening the seat belt, as we all know, Kia stuffed the buckle part way too low. I have probably done a few of these dings but most were there when I bought the car and Kia refuses to do anything. Any fix thought Stinger owners?

Um I don't miss my seat belt. That looks so beat up.

I'm not looking for a critique, I'm looking for a fix or a worthy cover up to a very cheap finish. As I previously said, this was done before I got the car but did not notice it. It' just too bad that everyone cannot be as accurate as you.

Somebody is just hasty and careless. I suppose it could be buffed to knock the dings back, but it's not going away. This is not a warranty issue. It is damage through driver error. I wonder how much a new center console cover costs?

If you wanted a new look completely, there is a nice carbon fibre looking replacement , I think Stinger 8 store have them in stock, only other options are replacing it or seeing if it could be buffed out as Merlin suggested.

Thx for response

Don’t think you can repair that. It’s beat to shit. Best and cheapest option is to get a replacement console in the same brushed metal finish. You can buy the Korean OEM part from eBay or the vendors on this site. And the Korean consoles have cup holder lids. This is the best way to make that area look brand new.

replacement console is great idea but quite expensive. I was hoping to find a car wrap type product that is cut specific for the Stinger. I have looked on line but no luck. Anyone have any ideas? If not, I will attempt cutting one myself. Details to follow.

You can get brushed aluminum looking wrap, but it won't hide all the damage as the wrap will follow all the dents... get a sample from Amazon ($3-4) and see how it works... replacing it is probably the best

Agreed, replacing is would definitely be best and probably the route I will end up going, but I'm the guy in the saying, 'better to have tried and failed than not try at all'. I'm thinking carbon fibre wrap would make the nicks disappear and I believe that is what is in the new GTS Stinger. I would just like to find a site that may sell it pre cut

I wouldn't bother with precut... it's very easy to work with especially when you don't have compound shapes, and only requires the most basic of tools, (hairdryer or heatgun, sharp knife, and old rewards or hotel room key card, and a microfiber cloth) in fact if you get it warmed up, the reward card edge will cut it

Thx, my first attempt will be with car wrap as have done wrap a few times as per the GT badge on my cover picture. like I said above better to try and fail than not try at all. If fail then look for pre cut, lastly, new top piece for console.

i have this too, but not nearly that bad. maybe 10% of that. I may vinyl wrap mine at some point. That would be the cheapest option

Is that dirt on the center console? Does your dog ride shotgun? Looks like dog or key damage. Wrap will not fix this. You need to buy replacement trim.

I'm thinking a bit of PPF would be a good idea there as a preventative measure
