Dealer Visit - Warranty Voided - Taking mods off the car - Experiences with mods

Bumping this...I now have conked A/C and a rattle, so it's time for a dealer visit. Any recommendations on Seattle area dealers? I seem to recall someone DM'd a year or more ago (I've been busy), but....

And mine will possibly be for sale in summer, two reasons to get A/C fixed...

A couple other locals that perused Lee Johnson Kia didn't have an issue despite having lower springs, intakes. I think they're fairly reasonable in that as long the mods don't affect the issue that you're trying to warranty, they'll work on it.

I think you're in the facebook group? Maybe you should try giving Vance from Burlington Kia a try haha

If you have any motor related issues and they see you have non oem downpipes they will flag you. I guess saying emissions isn't important. Atleast with a stinger the tunes are majority piggy backs which you can take off. However, if you want to mod a car don't be expecting the dealer to honor your warranty lol. You have to pay to play
Oh I agree with you, all I'm saying is that downpipes can only do so much to the engine, they can't just void your entire warranty because of them. A tune is a lot more invasive, but from the sound of it the JB4 is undetectable as long as it's removed before taking it in. I was set on doing a JB4 but with my financial situation at the moment I couldn't afford to fix it if I broke it, so I've put that on an indefinite hold. I'm not worried about intakes so I did do those.

Let’s be real. You add JB4/down pipes (meaning cats removed). Hoon the car (because that’s what you do with piggyback/tuners)…. HP/TQ IS higher And than what you bought the car… transmission dand you want to have Kia cover your costs.

if you can’t pay, don’t play.

it’s one thing to cry magnison-moss for a cat back exhaust or CAI.

but you can’t really act shocked and surprised that a DEALER would void warranty (rightly so I’m my opinion) for non trivial mods

And yes. I’ve tuned my past cars (including a 2011 moustang GT).

I knew what I was getting into.
Settle down killer. I wasn’t mad about that. I was upset that the service guy told me it was ok. He actually said we like modded cars. Leave everything on it won’t be an issue we will not say anything. Then his service manager ended up being the one that reported it. It was my mistake though and I own up to it. Don’t tel me though if your dealer said it’s fine we won’t say anything then 5 days later they call and say oh it’s void and it will Cost you $13,500 for a new trans you wouldn’t be pissed. You would be. Don’t even try to lie. Plus you would be looking for anything you might be able to do after getting screwed over like that. You would be furious, anyone would. I also calmed down since, I only blame myself for not pulling off the tuner like I was going too. since talked with the manager who’s now trying to help me get it reversed because of the situation and they will be running tests like the law says they have too and prove if it was the tuner or not and even then he’s going to ask and push for it to be covered. All I can do now is pray and hope God helps me out on this one but you are right.

Gluck man! I think JB4 didn’t cause your transmission issues.

No FB for me, not for years. Maybe I'll see about Lee Johnson. Not exactly convenient to West Seattle for the next year or so, but hey. A/C is now out as well, so it has to be done. Thanks.

Dude, I won't say "agree or disagree" with your opinion but if you are going to come at someone like this, for God's sake, run it through MS Word, or a Thesaurus, or something so that this is not such a HARD READ....JEEZ!!!!!
