3.3TT Creating True Plug-N-Play JB4 Harness (w/Fuel Wires)

This plug and play quick install adapter allows you to install a posi-tap for fuel control tuning without piercing the factory O2 sensor wiring providing a completely reversible connection.
Just a thought, would these o2 harnesses you've made work for Lap3 Protuner? I know they tap into the wires with positaps also.

I'm not sure. Which wire from the Lap3 gets tapped to the O2 sensor?

I looked it over. Yes, the harness I made will also work with the Lap3 Pro Tuner.
That's awesome! I might need another set of harnesses for that, dont really want to undo the JB4 incase I go back to it.

Updated the design to be a bit sleeker and less bulky. Managed to reduce the overall harness diameter by 50%, down to 1/4" with increased flexibility.

Oh sure...! Now it's smaller and more flexible! lol

I say this because I was going to rebuild the harnesses since I think they are still a little too long and not flexible enough.

Either way... great job.

Good luck to you.

Are you doing anymore harnesses Ecko, I'm interested in another set. Thanks.

Can we put a sticky on Page 10, Post #185 please.
It's the post with the video showing how to connect the harness to the jb4.

@x4nd3r05 had issues with his car that he mentioned on 8/11. He attributed the issues to the fuel wire harness.

I received the harnesses back from him and found no issues with the harnesses. Each wire and pin tested for continuity (i.e., there are no shorts). I then tested each wire against the others for anything that could potentially touch inside the connector, which was also successful and found no faults.

I then connected his harnesses in my car and could not replicate the issue described, which was the AFR was constant at 14.7 and threw a code P0000. Neither occurred during my test. I recorded video and sent it to @x4nd3r05.

I then left his harnesses connected to my car for a week and drove roughly 300 miles with them connected with no issues.

I removed them this morning to return to him.

Moral of the story: Ensure the harnesses are fully connected and seated. They should not disconnect without pressing the tab. Sometimes the tab remains lifted, use a pik tool to press the tab over the seat to ensure they don’t pull apart.

And probably the biggest takeaway, if you experience an issue and believe it to be related to the harness, just message me. I’ve now made 50+ of these things. If anyone knows how to troubleshoot them it’s me. There’s no need to fault the harness publicly for it to be determined that there’s no fault found. If there’s an issue, I’ll take care of it.

Once again, i'm not running a business. I'm a single individual, you can approach me as such. I typically don't bite.

Are you up for running another batch? If so I would like to get on the list! Thanks for your hard work!

@ecko04 I didn't see any fault in discussing the issues publicly on the forum since we all learn from everyone's input and experience. I would have never known the P0000 code from the CEL and AFR at a constant 14.7 may indicate an issue with O2 sensor connections if it were never discussed and sharing that information would help others diagnose the issue. It is not my intention to bash your product publicly as a matter of fact I've thanked you numerous times in our PMs and publicly on the forum for your work and contribution to the community and still am thankful. I received the harness back, installed them and they're working flawlessly. It may have been user error but I checked to make sure the connections were tight and still had an issue so I sent them back. I did not want to spend 30 minutes peeling back the shrink wrap and solder if I didn't need to. Regardless of whatever transpired, I am still thankful for all the work you've put into this and am happy with the finished product.

No worries. The reason for my post had little to do with you personally and was more related to the overall connotation of:

1) When people read of about a problem that the poster links to a product, it casts doubt that either the product is defective or doesn’t do what it is intended. Hence the old adage that people will post about negative experiences and we’ll rarely hear about the positive.
2) When the issue isn’t the product, rarely will the original poster clear up the air and say the problem wasn’t the product. And even if they did, the damage caused by the original post would have already been done.

I hope the approach to resolving problems is not to immediately run to the web to air grievances and issues. However, when that happens everyone adds their own $0.02 and it may not even be relevant or applicable to the issue experienced and leads to going deeper down the rabbit hole.

Working with the person who made the item would be the advisable approach and if that didn’t work, or you didn’t hear anything back, soliciting advice from the collective would be the next step.

The update was provided to address issue #2. For anyone else looking to have a PNP solution they should rest assured that the experience you encountered is not reflective of the larger group as well as the steps taken to verify the product itself was not at fault.
