FWIW i borrowed my dealer's 3.3 V6 while my
dashcam was being fitted on my 2.0T and i couldn't relax driving it to its potential. You have to be on your game all the time or you will get into serious trouble. I found I had to really concentrate to make sure the car kept going in a straight line, as it fought for grip and got up to speed. Sure the conditions were colder than what is optimal for the summer tyres it had on, but for me (in my unpolled opinion) i just wasn't as comfortable and relaxed in the 3.3 as i am in my 2.0. Could it be down to the fact that i am used to my 2.0 and it being the fastest car i have owned? Probably.
The 2.0 is quick, but the 3.3 is fast and on another level. Only 1.5 seconds difference to 60 but the sheer power and thrust is so different, the 3.3 is potentially lethal in the wrong hands or if you aren't concentrating 100%. That for me helped me get over my 3.3 envy. I like reading and watching others with the v6, either stock or tuned, but despite always thinking "i should have opted for the v6", the 2.0 is actually adequate for me and my third drive of the v6 confirmed this for me and i no longer lust for or dream about having the fastest Stinger.
No, the 2.0T isn't not a world beater, but it's up there to be quicker or as quick as other fast but not performance cars that are on the roads and for me that's enough. The 2.0 premiums in the UK look identical to the 3.3 (ignoring the wheels and brembos), so it looks as great as the 3.3 but is a little slower. I still get the same looks and admiring glances, I still trigger those in BMWs, MBs, Audis, despite having a car that costs 1/2 of theirs. I'm content knowing that i can compete with an a5 if i wanted to and although subjective, i know it's a better looking car and will garner more stares from onlookers.
