Consumer Reports Stinger Reliability Rating

Here we are again: dueling anecdotes. My anecdotal experience says that the hype in the Stinger promo book is spot on. Your anecdotal experiences don't back that up. And round we go. I believe the lack of complaints (as a percentage of membership complaining about their "low quality" cars) on this forum backs up me and the promo book hype. :D
You need to hang up Merlin , there are real issues with real owners and your rebukes don't help , we accept your position , now just please read and observe ........................OK ?? I'm one of your fans !

Fans. I have fans. Who would ever have thought? Trump and me. Lol.

But if you say so, I actually will make an effort to shut my trap (via my digits), on the topic of total satisfaction with MY MY18. Sheesh. (At least on already existing threads. But if somebody starts a new one dissing on the Stinger as a poorly developed, inadequately tested, badly built POS, and that most or all Stingers have issues that their particular car has, I won't be able to contain myself. Do we have enough threads covering ALL the issues, such as they are? If so, there should be no reason not to lock new ones reopening the same old shit.)

FWIW i borrowed my dealer's 3.3 V6 while my dashcam was being fitted on my 2.0T and i couldn't relax driving it to its potential. You have to be on your game all the time or you will get into serious trouble. I found I had to really concentrate to make sure the car kept going in a straight line, as it fought for grip and got up to speed. Sure the conditions were colder than what is optimal for the summer tyres it had on, but for me (in my unpolled opinion) i just wasn't as comfortable and relaxed in the 3.3 as i am in my 2.0. Could it be down to the fact that i am used to my 2.0 and it being the fastest car i have owned? Probably.

The 2.0 is quick, but the 3.3 is fast and on another level. Only 1.5 seconds difference to 60 but the sheer power and thrust is so different, the 3.3 is potentially lethal in the wrong hands or if you aren't concentrating 100%. That for me helped me get over my 3.3 envy. I like reading and watching others with the v6, either stock or tuned, but despite always thinking "i should have opted for the v6", the 2.0 is actually adequate for me and my third drive of the v6 confirmed this for me and i no longer lust for or dream about having the fastest Stinger.

No, the 2.0T isn't not a world beater, but it's up there to be quicker or as quick as other fast but not performance cars that are on the roads and for me that's enough. The 2.0 premiums in the UK look identical to the 3.3 (ignoring the wheels and brembos), so it looks as great as the 3.3 but is a little slower. I still get the same looks and admiring glances, I still trigger those in BMWs, MBs, Audis, despite having a car that costs 1/2 of theirs. I'm content knowing that i can compete with an a5 if i wanted to and although subjective, i know it's a better looking car and will garner more stares from onlookers.

A person always needs to know who they are and what fits them the best. At least you are in a Stinger! Enjoy!!

I'm assuming you have the RWD with Michelin Pilot's on your loaner(?). And with the cold conditions, I'm betting that the traction is not "confidence inspiring". At-least you recognize the risk of swapping ends! Yes - our 3.3TT's can be a beast. At any rate, you should take advantage of it while you have the loaner. Have some fun, but keep it 'tween the ditches! ;)

I never did. The "fastest Stinger?" What an agenda. Why not just enjoy going FAST? Why be concerned about how fast? Stingers do not need to beat other cars in order for them to be fun. When I eventually get my rear sway bar upgrade, it won't be to make me faster, but rather safer: I expect the added stiffness to further "plant" the car in corners and even in "bullet mode" straight ahead. The car already inspires confidence with the factory OE sway bars. But like with brakes and tires, the concept of greater stability is one that I cannot ignore. Speed is a great toy. But safety is first. It does not work to have a car that the acceleration and top speed potential is far beyond the chassis and performance/handling potential. The Stinger from base to top trim is a car that handles high speeds very well. And mods like stiffer sway bars will improve what is already more than adequate.
