Cold start sound

My car makes "sounds". But I always start with the windows up. It idles at a higher RPM for less than a minute then drops to almost inaudible. Yours sounds like normal startup to me. The "whine" (too strong a word for what I hear, but whatever) drops when your engine's startup higher RPM cycle ends. Normal.

Next time you do a cold start would you mind taking a listen to it? I’ve notice if you put it into gear it stops the sound.

I just made a video of my cold start. Camera fell over right before I started the car so the sound is muffled, lmao.

I rolled the window down and muted the radio. Mine doesn't sound like yours.

I have intake and cat back on the car. Your sound might be a product of the DPs.

I heard this sound on videos on YouTube. It sounds like it’s the secondary air pump. It sounds like a vacuum or hair dryer to me. It just quite loud to me. I’m in Canada and it’s starting to get colder. It’s not freezing yet and my garage is probably 13-15 degrees or so.

I’ve tried to listen to start ups of stingers and have not heard that sound on any other cars but who knows how long they have been sitting.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I read the secondary air pump only turns on in colder weather. Maybe that’s why I can’t find any videos of the sound.

Did you ever find out what was the issue with your stinger? I own a 22 GT1 and it makes the whistle/whine/spooling sound during cold starts only

Ours sounds like it needs a valve adjustment. Thank God for the warranty. Something tells me I'm going to need it and it's only been 5k miles lol.

If you're talking about the ticking sound that's most likely the high pressure fuel pump. Totally normal.

Are you talking about the ticking, like in this video? Sounds kind of like sticky lifters? If so that's the high pressure fuel pump.
