Cold Air Intake -- Worth it?

I have a 2023 Kia Stinger GT2 RWD (Ceramic Silver / Red Leather) and I was wondering if adding a K&N Cold Air Intake system was worth it? I have one on my 2014 Tundra and I love it. BUT with the twin-turbos, you hear a 'pssst' noise as the gas is let off and I am afraid that will become annoying as hell. Any input?

Many seek out pssst noise with the volume at 10. One of the primary reasons people go CAI is for more turbo noises. Might not want to do it.

It's been batted around whether the stock engine programming adapts or adapts enough to see real gains in power output, so you might not actually gain anything but noise. The stock airbox provides enough air for the engine at its stock programming. If you're going to tune, then by all means get snorkels and intakes. Any extra air, especially cooler air, can be made into power with a tune.

I had BMS intake and decided to go back to stock with drop in panel instead. Less dust and more “factory look” under the hood. I do miss the pshhhh sound though.

I have the aFe Takeda Momentum enclosed cold air intakes on my car. To my knowledge, they're the only enclosed aftermarket intakes. You won't hear much induction noise unless you have ram air ducts installed.

I haven't seen if anyone on this forum has the SSR intakes on their car. I would be worried about the filters getting dirty and wet constantly.

I also have the aFe Power CAI, if noise is an issue then this is the system for you, I have no other engine mods & still with factory intakes & these are quiet.
They have made a difference over stock system, the car breaths so much better & acceleration is more responsive & under hard acceleration there is no “breakdown” as I used to get with the OE system, the car just wants to keep giving.

Do you have ram air ducts like JA airscoops or VelossaTech snorkels? They go well with any CAI, as well as the stock airbox.

No, just the OE factory air ducts, I don’t want the others atm I’m happy with the way it is for now.

I went with the dry filters for the aFe takeda intakes as well. Mainly didn't want to deal with oiled filters. Tempted to buy a second set of just the filters for when it's time to clean them so I can just swap and not have to worry about the filters drying out completely after cleaning.

As for sound/noise. I have just the intakes, not the scoops/snorkels. I do hear SOME sound from the blow off valves and some of the turbo induction, but it's not very much at all and I don't even notice it if I have my music playing.

That’s what I did, bought a 2nd set of filters, when the time comes it allows for a quick change over & then time to clean & dry that set ready to go when required.

The main limiter on the stock intake setup is the baffles/boxes *in front of* the core support. Remove those, add a snorkel if you want, and you're 90% of the way there. An aftermarket intake gives you the PSSSST and a bit more power.
Those forward air boxes are there to muffle noise, but they also seriously restrict airflow.
