Clear cut intake winner?

Hello Everyone I am new to this forum. Does anyone have advise or data what the best intake is for the Stinger? Is there a clear cut winner?

I am new here as well. There is a ton of unsupported "info" out there, but no data. It would likely take intensive logging to reveal which CAI is the best for DD. Dyno testing would not give complete enough data to prove this. In looking at the designs available the "ram air" designs would aid a speed density system best, but who will be driving fast enough on a regular basis for that? For real life driving,it looks like the SSR will perform best, but there is the GIANT issue of driving with completely exposed filter elements.

Well I ordered the BMS intake last night. I like the ease of install and zero risk for fitment. I’ll report back my experience with it.

Welcome. In my opinion the best intake is JT. There are also AEM which is plastic and so far fitment seems good. There is the AP intake but people have had fitment issues with them, same for the stillen. The Injen are very nice but no heat shield.

You're going to love it! :)

Pick your poison. I went with the Injen intakes - large area filters, nice intake and blow off sound, and well engineered tubing. Install was simple, and I love the appearance and sound.

1) Is it going to give huge results by itself? I doubt it - I've seen marginal increases 1/4 mile and 0-60 to this point using Dragy.
2) Is it going to help with additional power mods - e.g downpipes and/or tuning? Yes, I'm pretty certain it will, but I'll wait to see what transpires.

As others have said, intakes are going to help when you start asking the motor to pass more air - there are a number of alternatives, and I don't think there's a huge performance difference between them. Nobody has provided numbers or comparisons that provide clear real world performance data.
Where did you source them, and did you pair them with an exhaust?

I bought them from KharTunerz in California and had them shipped to a border storage facility in Montana, to save on shipping/importation costs.

I also purchased SSR midpipes but am waiting for the winter weather to break before installing them. I"ll be using them with the stock cat-back exhaust system. I don't like loud exhaust systems, but the mid pipes seem like a good tradeoff - minimal increase in the exhaust note with a healthy performance increase.

Had the pleasure of having my air filter cone pop off the plastic tube on the AP CAI. Happened twice now while driving.

Doesn’t matter how far I shove the filter or vary the clamp pressure. Even took rubbing alcohol to the rubber/plastic contact/pressure points. This thing looks awesome, sounds awesome, but just is a PITA Fitment wise.

So now I’ve got to pop the hood and check them EVERY drive.

I’ve had CAIs on other cars... nebever had these kind of issues.

And that's enough proof that this is a cobbled failure that I will not be purchasing!

Man that really sucks. Sorry to hear

Look forward to your follow up. I'm leaning toward the JT set up myself, they will allow a lot more air flow by eliminating the pathetic stock air choking intake system forward of the filters. Cheers

I'm installing the AEM intake tomorrow. I can take pictures as I go if anybody is interested.

If you are talking about the air duct, you can get the VT snorkels.
