CARPLAY2air

Correct. Was just plug and play.

That being said, I've decided that this isn't for me. The audio delay with phone calls is a bit too much for me. I do talk on the phone in the car quite a bit, so this isn't really going to work. If you just want it for stuff like Waze/Google Maps and music, this is great.

I kind of don't want to deal with returning it, so I'm offering anyone here in the US if they'd like to buy it off me for a heavily discounted price. PM me if anyone is interested.

Still available?

I bought it direct from CARPLAY2air. It came with the software already installed...except there was a new version that I had to install. The instructions could of been better but I got through without much pain.

That said they expect software updates every 2 months - time will tell.

I haven’t tried having a call yet so can’t say if the new software fixes the time lags others have wrote about.

it still takes 15-20 seconds for the connection to work - but when it starts, it works pretty well. That being said, I have seen a completely empty screen (instead of the regular CarPlay screen). When that happens, I haven’t yet figured out to get it back to normal screen. One way that causes this empty screen is if you push the carplay button before the 15 to 20 seconds for the device finishing the connection.

While you had it where you able to mirror you screen from apps that are not supported by airplay. So can you just mirror you iPhone screen onto the infotainment screen?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
If that's possible, it could only be done with a jailbroken iPhone.

What kills me about this is our cars have wifi built in, it may not be the correct band needed, but potentially a firmware update would allow us to have wireless connectivity.

I connected my car to my home WIFI when I first got it and was playing around. It didn't do anything or allow me to DL updates so it was worthless. But yes, it should be feasible.

Yeah I'm not sure what it's for exactly, I think the idea is you connect it to your phones hotspot and use the google search? Not entirely sure.

That was the idea, but they've removed Google Search a few updates ago due to increased licensing fees, so I don't think there's really a point anymore.
