Anybody experiencing issues using CarPlay after updating to iOS 13? My stinger will not recognize CarPlay although I have met the following criteria:

-Reset general settings iPhone
-Reset CarPlay settings iPhone
-Erased and re-established Bluetooth connections
-Use approved Apple lightning cord

Thanks in advance!

Hi no issue for me works smoothly... only issue coincidentally my cabled died when I connected the first time on ios13 to my Stinger. Cable replace all checks out fine.

Oh man! I just updated to iOS 13 not half an hour ago. Didn’t realise it was buggy. Haven’t tried it in the car yet. Will report back.

Ok. I’m all good. I was having a few connectivity issues with Bluetooth and CarPlay driving home this arvo which I put down to the update sitting there waiting to be installed. Updated and just tried again and everything is fine. No issues whatsoever.

Checked mine this afternoon & it worked fine.

Replaced the cable today and no luck.

Lucky. Bluetooth works excellent for me but not CarPlay. The vehicle won’t show up in CarPlay settings.

I started having this issue after my head unit was replaced under the audio fader issue. I can plug the phone into the USB port and it will charge it, but not recognize CarPlay. Worst is, it's intermittent, so I'm SOL unless it's happening on the day I take it in. Up until yesterday it had worked for five straight days and before that, it was busted for over a week. I've tried multiple cords and multiple phones, same result. First time, they couldn't replicate the issue. Second time and third times, they said the port was loose. Going to call again this morning and hope for the best/expect the worst. At this point it has to be a part that needs replacing, I guess I just have to irritate them enough into doing it?

Sorry for the dumb question... but since your head unit was replaced, did you go back into the settings and enable CarPlay mirroring?

That's the exact issue I have with mine. I didn't get the head unit replaced but the audio fader has been an issue since I got the car. I rarely use it now because when I'm GPSing, it will shut off on me. I go straight bluetooth. I realized my fader issue happens when the car is off batter for a while.

Yeah - it's been an intermittent issue, settings aren't the problem. It'll go from working to not working and back to working again within a single trip without me touching the phone. Or go days without working then randomly start up again for a few days. I'm fairly certain they messed up the install of the head unit. (They also broke the trim on the dash and "fixed" that twice before finally conceding to ordering a new part. And half of my seat controls randomly stopped working after they had the car, they had to replace the seat back and in the process of doing that they -shocker- broke the trim on the back of it and had to replace that too.)

Yeah, settings aren't the issue. It'll go from working-not working-working in the span of a single trip, or sometimes go days without working before randomly reconnecting and working for a while. I'm fairly certain the dealership messed up the install. (They also broke the trim on the dashboard and "fixed" it twice before finally conceding to replacing the piece. And while they had the car for the head unit install, half the seat controls randomly stopped working. That required replacing the seatback and -shocker- they broke the trim piece on the back of the brand new seatback and had to order and replace that part too. So, not great.)

The dealership had my car again today to fix this, and the shop foreman came out to explain what they did. They replaced the entire USB assembly and a wire running from it. When he was in the car with me, it connected just fine. 20 minutes later on my way home, it cut out and hasn't worked since. The foreman said that in some cars, having anything plugged into the OBD port can cause weird issues - I have a dashcam plugged there, so I unplugged it and still no luck. I've checked with different cords, different phones, and every setting on my phone and on the car in regards to carplay and everything is right as far as I can tell (otherwise it wouldn't connect at all, the intermittent part wouldn't be an issue). After the holidays, it'll be back to square one.

I have kinda similar issues.
1.CarPlay will work for a few seconds then disconnect, and work again after unplugging and replugging
2. Plug phone in for car play, and then loose all audio. Radio, Bluetooth, everything, except all the beeps and books when cycling menus. Only solution is turn car off, allow battery to discharge and then restart the car and try again. Some works sometimes continues to be glitchy.
Both issues come in waves, and luckily I drove straight to the dealer once when it was acting up, and the service writer and head tech got to see what was going on. They called Kia who told them they had never seen this, and had me try a few different things with my phone and bluetooth, but no avail. Kia has asked me to bring my car and phone in but I ain’t doing it till the virus passes.
But Kia US is aware of the issue and is trying to work on a fix, but I won’t leave my car for them to go through process.
