Can spark plugs cause misfire only under load?

And i only needed plugs to fix the issue of a misfire in cylinder 6
Coil packs are not cheep

Had a P0300, gapped and replaced plugs, problem persisted. They could only get 3 coils at the time and replaced those. Hesitations still occur - seems to mainly be when cold - but no more OBD-II codes so I've not taken it back as yet. Coils are a problem on the 3.3TT it seems. Anyone know of any upgraded ones or ways to avoid recurrence of coil failures?

Shooot i must have a lucky duckling

Im sure someone makes an aftermarket coil pack by now. But have never researched.

They are under warranty replacement until 60K miles (all electrical stuff is out of our pocketses starting at 60K miles, I'm nearly there).

Hey y’all finally back from my hiatus and back to report my Kia service warranty saga after my car has been in the shop for over a month(was slightly dying inside).

I brought my car back in and the mechanic said the spring inside ignition coil #5 was corroded and he replaced it(I had a feeling that this was not going to solve the issue). Three days after driving it, yet another misfire in the cylinder 4. When I took it back in , the mechanics had enough and finally requested Kia Corporate to have all spark plugs AND ALL IGNITION COILS replaced under warranty.

I got it back last Saturday and now after a week of driving and 400 miles later, my car is running as it should be. I just wish they had listened to me at the beginning.

Not sure if this would help much so y’all don’t go through the same warranty fiasco, here’s my Case #14985944.

Last thing, does anyone know why the ignition coils corrode so fast on our Stingers? I didn’t get a clear answer from the tech. They said was due to my foot…

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
^^^Sure, blame the driver. But at least you're back on the road (may the trauma of your painful separation fade swiftly).

I don't think that the Stinger's coil packs corrode swiftly as a design flaw. I think that over time, of course, the variables for each vehicle will eventually cause a condition in one or more cylinders where they will need replacing. Thus far, I've had a single coil pack replace (cylinder no. 6) and I am hovering just below 60K miles. I use my foot whenever I have pole position in a speed zone of at least 45 MPH. In pole position entering an onramp I will always gun it (usually not all the way to the kickdown switch, however, as there is simply no need/reason to go that extreme in this "rocket"). If you're a kickdown switch kind of guy, you might try just smoothly pushing most of the way to WOT but holding back that last jam on the gas. Also, the quality of gas used, the octane, I believe plays a widespread variance factor in this issue. Mods certainly will play into it. The variables are huge.
