Many of today’s V8s need to be rev’d beyond 4000 rpm before they are making peak torque .
So lots of v8 cars are at a bit of a disadvantage off the line . Either they have to drop clutch at higher rpm and risk losing traction or start at lower rpm where stinger has more usable powe. Add to this traction of awd stinger is almost always going to get off line quicker.
Also with awd, low rpm power and automatic transmission we can repeat fast launch over and over consistently. Cars with peaky ho at higher roms are tougher to launch .
Now add to this that most stoplight battles are 1 st to 2nd gear and most people are not going to pull a burnout to go fast Stinger is almost always going to beat most cars off the line through second.
Motor Trend greatest drag race should include Stinger GT AWD. Think it would kill lots of cars .
