Ugh! Shop just called to say they discovered while replacing the intercooler that the plastic radiator support is cracked on both sides. Over-nighting part. Now hoping for "late" Thursday.

Shop called to say the part didn't ship and to ask what time we are supposed to leave on Friday!

Why couldn't that raccoon have stayed in the grass?!

@TStaino Sorry to hear of your misfortune. However damage does not seem bad. Perhaps a new front bumper and new front engine splash shield and you should be good. Lower grill looks okay.
Keep us posted on the repair process.

Lower grille is deeply scratched; see his pic. "Perhaps a new bumper." Really, look at it. Ditto under panel. Seriously, you sound even more optimistic than I pull off.

Resale value seems hard to quantify on these cars. The percentage off MSRP can be large, but many people aren't paying MSRP initially.

Yup I would agree with that. And hence the reason I don’t think resale value will be great... why buy a used one with only a 5 year warranty, when you can buy a brand new one with a 10 year warranty and pay AROUND the same price? Obviously a new one would be more expensive, but by how much? A few thousand? I think most would pay a few thousand more for a 10 year warranty vs a 5 year warranty... especially if you’re buying a $40-$50k car.

jesus, how big was that porcupine? I hit a raccoon going 40 (me, not the raccoon) and it did zero external damage to my car, but somehow popped the right foglight in momentarily, breaking my wiper reservoir. Really expensive to replace/repair, I feel you. Raccoon was nowhere to be found after that. His head must have directly impacted JUST the foglight, crazy!

Lol.. big enough to crack the front bumper! It’s all one piece too, so had to replace the whole thing and repaint.
