Bye Stinger, I hardly knew you...

Nice BMW...er, I mean, Toyota.

Seriously, super awesome car.

But it really is a BMW but with Toyota reliability which is awesome. When BMW developed the new Supra, Toyota tested every part of the car and required every part to be up to Toyota reliability standards. If the parts did not pass, BMW had to improve them until they did pass.
The best of both worlds I would say! :D

Interesting choice! I will leave the debate to others on the BMW connection, I will, just say my son has BMW M140i. That B58 is awesome!

For me personally if I was in the market for a sports car, an MX5 or Miata as most of you know it!

If you raise the issue of straight line speed, my response would be BBR.

If you don't know them Google BBR MX5.

Pure drivers car. For me, the styling of the Stinger beats the Supra, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Toyota has become a bean counting galore. Just look at Lexus. Still using the same deivetrain and platform since 2005! They've become irrelevant anyway.
At one time, Toyota had around $13B in cash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don't stockpile like that making stupid money decisions. The partnership with BMW was a no brainer for them....

You have not browsed the MKV Supra forums............they are kicking and screaming about every little thing.......:D

Roughly 9 months ago I purchased a used 2019 Kia Stinger GT2 AWD in ceramic silver with red interior. It is a wonderful car, but I decided to move onto something else.

Last weekend I picked up a brand new 2021 GR Supra 3.0 Premium in turbulence grey:

Good choice, I'm considering this as my next car as well. Let me know what you think of it.

I'm slow: there's "222", aaagain. How weird. :P

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Yeah the result of all that penny pinching is that your left with products that are are easily outclassed.

I test drove both the base model Corolla and the Kia equivalent Cerato/Forte and there was no comparison. The Kia was fsr superior and far more polished car in every aspect.

I had a 2016 4runner and was surprised that I'd have to step up to the Limited trim just to get automatic headlights. That's standard equipment on $15k cars for fucks sake!
This has been my issue with Toyota. My wife wanted to look at the 4runner and we were pretty appalled by how much they wanted and how little tech they had. They have a cult following so they can get away with it, but if I pay like I'm getting all the tech then I want all the tech. Having a vehicle that lasts a million years isn't as big of a deal to someone like me who isn't planning to hang onto any vehicle I own for that long.

4Runner buyers also look at simplicity, and the more tech there is the less simple and more prone to issues the vehicle could have over the course of time. You aren't the intended buyer for the 4Runner. [neither am I fwiw]

I agree that, in general, Toyotas are overpriced. The 4Runner is the exception, because there's few options like it on the market and so it commands more than one might expect for a vehicle of its ilk.

The BOF SUV game is growing for the first time since the XTerra was axed. And the current non-Toyota offerings come with options for all of the current bells and whistles. Toyota's current BOF SUVs are quite long in the tooth (the current gen 4runner is over a decade old!). The Bronco and Wrangler will probably slowly start to chip away at Toyota's customers who want a truck chassis SUV + current tech. Really, it baffles the mind how Toyota is still able to sell a truck they designed in 2008.

I think the new fully offroad Bronco has a strong chance of doing just that, but it's not out yet. Sorry, I don't even think of Jeep (reliability) though they are certainly a player in the ~$40,000+ offroad options and people swear by them, or at them. lol

Yeah I mean I used the 4Runner as an example because it's the one she wanted, but I think the brand as a whole is a little overpriced considering what they offer. I've had the argument with Toyota people before, they like the simplicity and that's totally fine I absolutely get if you want that sort of thing. I just don't get why they pay prices like they are getting technology and amenities that they aren't. But like I said, Toyota as a whole seems to have a very hardcore customer base, so it works for them.

Same for Subaru owners, although I'd say you're getting more value dollar for dollar with a Subaru.

Funny we're somehow talking about offroad vehicles in a Supra thread. lol
