I am going to buy a GT2 2022 Stinger and was wondering what people have typically paid. My wife got a Telluride and they would take no less than MSRP. Is there some wiggle room in the Stinger. I will be trading in a paid off Maxima and paying the rest in cash. Negotiating help wanted please.

The dealer we use is pretty Chill. A lot of them are boning their Telluride buyers and adding on 3 to 5K Our sold at MSRP and no worthless force dealer marked up add ons.

Not a good time this year. 2020 was the year where dealers selling 3-5k off msrp plus 0 interest.

May have to travel a ways to get less than MSRP. That's just the market right now....

My best advice is “don’t pay cash”. Dealers don’t want to give you anything out of their pocket right now. However, they will give you everything out of the manufacturer’s pocket.

Financing is where they have the most leeway. The manufacturer can probably give you zero percent financing for a long term. Take that and as many rebates as possible. Invest the money you would have spent.

You are probably going to pay pretty close to MSRP for a 2022 right now unless you lease it. Demand is just too high and supply has dwindled to nothing.

Also don’t use the trade in money on the new car. Just take that money in a check and invest it.

a few years ago, you could get 5-10 OFF msrp for a stinger.
Just a year ago; that's when the incentives were still good and the ridiculous inflated values had only barely started. I blame covid for everything.

Try to find a '21. $4k mfg rebate if you trade in (at least near me, not sure about other areas).

You can negotiate for a couple grand under MSRP on a Stinger. Tellurides are one of the most in demand vehicles today - the secret is out with them. Getting them for MSRP is a very good deal in today's market. Sedans have softer demand.

Hard to get a good deal in these COVID days. Welcome to the forum and good luck Stinger hunting.

Yea. I bought my 2019 GTS 10k off MSRP in January 2020 right before the Covid lock down. The market is so backed up for new vehicles so used ones are selling really at a premium as well. My son just traded his 2018 Chevrolet Z71 truck with 30K miles for 4k more than he bought it for in early 2019. Crazy times if you are in need of a new or used vehicle. Good luck. I hope you can find a Stinger that fits your requirements.

2021 va 2020 is a different market. Paying MSRP with MFG discount of any kind is a win today. I’d never pay over on any car, unless maybe it was one of the first 500 of the new mid engine corvette, but then I’m not driving that either.
Telluride here has been $5-$10k over MSRP which is insane imo.
You’ll have better luck on a leftover 2021GT2 than a new one I think, but what do I know..my cars orange.

I have not been able to find one at even any price below MSRP

You likely need to go a bit further in the buying process to pull out a price reduction.

If you're sitting down and say "I want this car, let's make a deal. I'll take it home tonight for $xx,xxxx" there's a good chance they will budge at least some.

And if you're trading there's another negotiating point. They won't give you the price figure you want? Ask for a sky high number for your trade.

yeah you missed the boat for crazy good deals and sales... in 2020 they were practically giving these cars away... now it's a bad time to buy due to overinflated pricing...

just contact all the dealerships, set up an appointment, and give them 24 hours to give you their best OTD final price since you're ready to make a decision "today" so to speak!

good luck! :D

Just so I know what I missed out on, can I know what's the crazy good deal price point and what shall I negotiate towards now?

Before things crapped out, base GT's were going for $39K and GT1's for $43K. GT2's could be had for around $50K in my neck of the woods.....

Had you done a little more shopping, maybe another grand could be had.......no longer.

GT Lines were like 34-36k last year.
